310

Saw this code at NL and it worked at The Warehouse for $4 off the standard price. Brings the 1kg bag of Market Kitchen coffee beans down to $16.

I have tasted it and it's alright in my Thomson bean to cup machine. Thanks to cheapies. Enjoy.

  • Good deal. I've been wanting to try these beans cause I always buy the Flight Memphis beans

  • +1

For $20 the beans are good. For $16 they're even better. They're roasted in Wellington. Unsure by who as there's no indication on the packaging. But as we all know there are some very good roasters in Wellington.

Yep some mentioned in the previous comments it's Havana.. At 4 dollars per 250 it's a bargain

      • +1

Actually cheaper when you consider most bags in shops are only 200g for around $5.50-6+. Cheapest Havana i've got recently was $5.99.

  • Been getting these Coffee beans for quite a while now and certainly hold their own against the more expensive supermarket beans.

Love these beans after seeing them recommend here. Pro tip from another thread: be sure to rummage around for the freshest bag (furthest best before date) as there's a noticeable difference in taste (have experienced this first hand). Be sure to store beans in an airtight container.

Regarding getting the freshest beans possible: the supplier establishes a 12-month BBD from the packaging date.
Another tip to maintain optimum flavour is by freezing your coffee beans. For best results, remove as much air from the coffee beans as possible (vacuum packing works well). I usually reserve a 2-3 week supply outside the freezer and then freeze the remaining.

  • Thanks, never heard of these, and they're still $20 on themarket with free shipping with MC+. Ordered!

    • Good (albeit brief) discussion here

      • awesome, thanks! Looking forward to it

Fyi this barcode works for one 1kg coffee beans purchase. To use it more than once you have to make separate transactions.

    • +1

Or you scan the voucher multiple times at the checkout. Works up to 4 times.

      • Even better. Didn't even think to try that.
Fyi part II. Each barcode scan will cost you $0.01.

    • Does this work at self checkout?

      • +1

        Yes it does.

        • Awesome, thanks for confirming

  • I've tried this it's good enough for me and for the price, it's a really good deal.

    • Even for $20, it's a good deal. :)

  • Has anyone tried the Karajoz Barista Coffee Beans 750g? I wonder how it compares with this Market Kitchen. Cheers.

    • +1

I think the Karajoz coffee beans have a better flavor profile. The Market Kitchen coffee beans are a darker medium roast with a simple chocolate / malt taste. I enjoy my coffee with milk as a flat white which suit these darker roasts, but with all coffee beans its comes down to how well you dial them in for your taste and equipment.

    • +3

Just tried the market ones last couple of days (have a june label on them). I find them more palatable than karajoz. They taste like std wellington coffee in that relatively mild with no distinctive notes. I.e. mojo like (personally not my fave).
For the price they are great and I'll probably mix them with a dark roast from cafe nearby that are x3 the cost.

Running them through a breville barista pro at 19g dose and 25-27s pull time

    • +1

Karajoz is better and is still my top choice of supermarket coffee beans
The Market Kit is good and with the $20/kg price tag, I now buy this more often than Karajoz.

  • Just picked up a back with the coupon. Thanks.

    • Your welcome 👌 enjoying it myself

Anyone who got the 'shop 3 times and get $5 coupon' marketclub deal, this bag of coffee counts for the minimum $20 spend despite the discount.
