As far as I'm aware, you'd have 6 months in total, as you don't have to redeem the code onto your account until the 3 months expiry period. Ie. Redeem the code onto your account in the last few days of expiry (3 months time) and you will have the credit on your account available for another 3 months.
So you have 3 months (from date of purchase/receiving the voucher code) + 3 months from when you actually redeem the code onto your account. Hope that makes sense :)
