6 Months Free NZ Post ParcelPod Subscription (Normally $10) - AKLD and WGTN Only

70
ACC

Just in time for all the sneaky online Christmas shopping! I have found this promo code which allows a free 6 month ParcelPod subscription. It is supposed to be for ACC staff, but seems to work for everyone. The coupon seems to only work at locations with ParcelPod in the name, which are only located in Auckland and Wellington.
What is ParcelPod?
ParcelPod is a service from NZ Post which provides an alternate address for your parcels to be delivered to. When your parcel arrives at the ParcelPod, NZ Post sends you a code to enter at the pod in order to collect your parcel.

Where are the ParcelPods?
* Auckland
* Christchurch
* Hamilton
* New Plymouth
* Tauranga
* Wellington
See the full list of locations here.

What can be delivered to a ParcelPod?
The website states that currently only shipments with the following couriers can be delivered to a ParcelPod location:
* NZ Post/Courier Post
* NZ Couriers
* Fastway Couriers
* DHL
Please check that the website you order from ships with one of these services.
There are also size and content limits (i.e no food etc), see the full list of exclusions here.

See more information about ParcelPod here.

  • They might be on to us already. Coupon code doesn't seem to work.

    Gives the message, "The promotional code supplied is not valid for your selected subscription period. Please check the code and try again."

    Tried it for both 3mths and 6mths but same result. Applied code both by copy/paste, and by typing in code.

      Strange, I was able to register successfully just now (for the Wellington Railway Station location)

        Thanks for the feedback, it seems to only be working for ParcelPost locations, not post offices or lobbies.

    • Hmm that's odd, just tried it again. It seems to only be working for locations that have ParcelPod in the name, not any of the lobbies or Post Offices. Try it with a ParcelPod and make sure its selected for 6 months.

        Unfortunately, only one option for our region. Tried it again but same result. Thanks anyway. Nice try,.

          That's a shame! I'll update the post. :/

        • Parcelpods and PO Boxes are two different services provided by NZPost; and Parcelpods are available at only 3 locations in NZ (at the time of writing, there will be more in future).

        • @footy7: So why, as part of the sign-up process, do they request that you nominate from more than three locations? Would seem to think they'd make this clear as part of the process.

        • @Jay: Strange, from within my NZPost account, it says I can use 3x parcelpod locations (vic st, chapel rd, and wgtn) but yes you are right, on the signup page it list more locations (albany, hamilton etc etc).

  • How is this different to a po box?

    • The cost per year is 7 times lower for starters. A big disadvantage being the mail/parcel is only stored for 24-48 hours before going back to a depot.

  • The nzpost depot and nzpost shop at just down the road from me so it's more convenient to collect from there, and it's free.

  • Waiting to hear back from NZ Post as to whether you can join up with one location, then change to another. If so, that might get around the issue with the coupon code.

    Also getting info on how many pods in location. Only one person can use a pod at a time. So if there are not many pods at a location, you might potentially have to wait many days for one to become available for your delivery. Not sure what happens to your delivery if that happens. Possibly goes to the nearest Post Office instead? All sounds a bit ad hoc.

      You are not locked to a single pod location. Your ParcelPod ID enables you to address parcels to any of the three pod locations.

      I've collected many parcels from the Victoria St pod over the years and never run into any capacity issues. If an issue does arise, and the parcel is undeliverable to a pod, it will get sent to the nearest depot or box lobby, and a collection card will be dispatched to your home address.
