This is a really good price for Forerunner 955, I've checked on ozbargain, the lowest price ever across the ditch has always been over AU$600.
Funny enough Garmin NZ also listed 945 at the same price.
I've already got 245 which is still enough for my needs and running ability, otherwise I would get one straight away.
Yes, but 965 is $1195 while this is $599 while arguably being the same watch but without OLED.

I'm in the same position! I've had my 235 since Jan '17 and it's still going alright for short to medium length activities. For longer bike rides I need to bring a small powerbank and keep it plugged. I'd love to get the 965 once it's on sale later on… but by then the 975 will be out.
I have the 245 music and it never skips a beat. Can't justify the upgrade myself, but quite tempted! The software just works and no extra subscription costs like the useless fitbits I tried before.
This is an absolutely great watch with amazing battery. I personally prefer this over the 965 model anyways.

The feature I'm missing is better controls for the spotify music player on the watch - are these any better in newer garmins? Just let me skip 30s in the current track(podcast) or scan through somehow. Ads are a pain. Losing your place in a podcast or wanting to continue from a known position is a pain.

This is the old model, the 965 is available now, but it only came out last year. I'm very tempted even though my trusty, 5 year old, 235 is still going strong
