Butter at $3.40 Save $3.90 is Better than 1/2 Price.
Now you're just asking for countdown to raise the base price by a dollar so they don't get called out on their math skills
Easy to hate on Countdown, but lately the specials have been pretty good (not great, but good).
Who's hating on Countdown?
I stopped shopping at cuntdown at the start of this year because of their non-stop price gauging. I’m pretty sure many others switched to other supermarkets as well.
So it’s good to see now countdown offering proper sales to lure customers back. Though 99% of their other products are still overpriced.
Same here. They used to be pretty good but this year their prices have gotten out of hand so I switched to New World. I still go to Countdown because their product range seems to be far better compared to my local New World which is tiny, and their deals are really good, but I rarely do a proper shop with them anymore.
Go to Countdown for a few items they have that PnS don't, once or twice a month. One thing I do like about CD is they don't put limits on their specials so when they do have a good deal you can really stock up.
They milked everyone so much they had an extra $400,000,000 lying around to undo their rebrand from 2007 so yeah, it's pretty easy.
Except their not spending 400m on a rebrand..
Is this a semantic argument or could you be misinformed? Check the WIKI bro they be spending that milk on Re-Woolworthing
Customers will be thrilled at the value this rebrand will provide!
Everyone disliked that
I was skeptical about this pricing, so jumped online to have a look. Start price is $8.30. Sale price is $5.00 savings $3.30
The deal starts next Monday
yeah but somehow the retail price states as $8.30 and then if the savings of $3.30, then still wont match the price.
Ahh I see, apologies!
Probably just wild fluctuations in countdowns pricing 1 week to the next.
Butter at $3.90 Save $4.40 is Better than 1/2 Price.
Nice work OP
This looks dubious.
The save prices don't match current CD retails.
Roll on Saturday!
$4.90?
Got next week's flyer on my table right now and I second that. Shows 4.90 which isn't really a killer deal if the flyer is correct.
The image in the deal post has now been updated to show $4.90 (originally said $3.90). Bugger.
I already had evil plans for stocking up on butter next week, looks like my schedule has suddenly cleared up 😂
Defiantly $5.00 each. I went to CD yesterday
darn that's very mediocre, must have been a typo in the banner image. Sorry for that.
I don't think it was a typo. The banner says better than half price. This isn't even half price! CD are just being shady as usual.
yes this is one good example l&p bottle $1.5 better than half price.

This is Countdowns punishment of you posting the deal early. /s
I was in CD yesterday and had a chat to a staff member and was told that they changed the deal due to not enough stock for all the stores.
That makes sense.
It would have been a good price at $3.90 but can’t control last minute changes.
Darn it, I need butter and was looking forward to saving $1
Not sure if it's a trend but warehouse has theirs for $5.
Haven't personally tried it but good to see a bit of competition.https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/market-kitchen-salted-butte…
The Pak N Saves I go to have had their butter at $4.99 all year. I was quite amazed at how popular this deal was
The original deal was Alpine butter 500g for $3.90, but then Countdown changed it to $4.90 by the time the mailer came out.
Most of the 78 people that upvoted this deal did so at the $3.90 price.
The Warehouse butter is really good but a bit saltier than Pam's and Tararua's. I think the price of dairy itself is going down as Pak N Save and New World keep consistently selling butter at $4.99.
Yes it does seem like dairy is dropping, as yoghurt is another product that has been hitting prices I haven't seen for some time
Insider… Naughty naughty! I'll upvote that.
