Auntie Dai's Dumplings 500/600g & Siu Mai Pork 480g $6 (Was $12) @ Countdown

610

Back again!

Also:

  • $11.90kg Lamb Leg Roast
  • 90c Cadbury Chocolate Bar

A lot of necessities are cheaper by around 50c. I think these are permanent price decreases rather than weekly sales which is great to see although I swear some of them have been put up in price over the past few weeks:

  • $1.25 white bread loaf
  • $4.90 Countdown Butter
  • $1 Countdown Canned Tomatoes or Baked Beans or Spaghetti
  • $1.50 Garlic bread
  • $10.30 12 size 7 eggs

Man, remember when this would set you back around $4?, now $10 is a bargain

      • Only battery farms, not caged eggs.

        • -2

Yea I only buy colony caged. Best you can get is about 57 cents each.
In the states you can buy caged 30 for 3usd+gst which equates to < 20 cents nzd each.

On online platforms like this people always downvote caged egg advocates yet towards the end of December caged eggs are always the first to be sold out. Even now colony caged shelves are a lot more empty. Was at paknsave last weekend. The guy wasn’t even loading the colony eggs on shelves as customers were taking it right off his pallet.

    • its back to that price in other countries…

Not true in the US where caged eggs are still available it’s still way cheaper 1/3 of the price compared to non caged

Seems like you are living in the wrong country!

@Banto: Not true, in the us only half the people say that to him

  • What's the $1.50 garlic bread? Is that the in-store bakery?

      • Tasteless garlic bread ….I started making my own watching YouTube videos so much better than the store brought ones.

    • I reckon they're made from expired baguettes with garlic butter added. Not great, but good for easy calories. Expire ~3 days after purchase. Can cook in ~10 mins in an air fryer.

      • My local used to use any "old" bakery bread, it looked ridiculous when it was some big round loaf. Few years back though so no idea if they stopped it

      • "Butter"
More like the cheapest marg available

        • With trace amounts of garlic
