    Great thank you!

  • The only way to book an appointment is via call and email. Unable to find any details related to the offer in the link.

This is because the offer does not exist!

you know it's exam time when offers like these come.

it's a decent service, for everything the students do, a superviser checks, makes adjustments if required.

the students may also be eager to test extra things, whereby they will ask for your permission to dilate you pupil for example, the fornt desk do not explain this process well. you do have to sign a long agreement, so make sure you read all that.

for the results, make sure you write them down before you leave. to ask for your results afterwards may take long time, and some results are omitted. in my case the distance between pupil was measured, but was not given in the report they sent afterwards. i also was told i do not have astigmatism , but it is shown in the report. makes me wonder if the clerks have pulled the right report. ..

    • I would recommend it! However, the appointment time does depend on how knowledgeable the student optometrist you get is. Some take longer because the students had to ask their supervisor lots of questions

    • Also, they do screening tests to check for diseases (glaucoma, cataracts, detachments, etc.), which usually isn't done in the basic eye tests at optometrists. Those only do the bare minimum to prescribe you expensive glasses/contacts! So, it's expected that a more thorough test would take longer

Might have been an exception but mine was quite long (an hr I think) and the student had to keep consulting her supervisor. Don't remember why though

$40.00 gas? Whats that like 2 liters?

  • Beware that it does take a long time. It took an hour or more the last time I went in 2018. If you're time is worth more, then skip this

Our current sessions are now full and will not be taking anymore sessions for the time being.

  • I have just called and this is NOT free. The adult test is $60. Her words were, these tests are not actually free.

    • It isn't normally free. Third-year optometry students will do the free tests from 16th to 19th October, 1 - 5 pm only

But the add says 'Free Eye Exam (Worth $60) & Receive a $40 Petrol Voucher'. FREE being the key word here - misleading

        • +1

The free sessions are with a 3rd-year student. You have to pay $60 to see a 4th/5th-year student.

@jessica0811: Ok, but I did say I was calling about the FREE tests. So not sure where the confusion is coming in. All good!

            • +1

@KIM ROCKMAN: Oh I see what you mean. I got confused too! Maybe the receptionist thought you were just trying to get the paid tests for free hahaha

        • +3

I don't know who published the 'deal' but we were never offering a free eye test. Whoever decided to publish the deal here added that incorrect information

@Melinda: If this type of post is something you don't want to see posted on Cheapies in the future, you can put in a request here

Not a valid offer. When you call recorded messages say this is not valid offer. It is published without permission.

    Don't waste your time.
