Yup. Was looking for black. But thought maybe it might be limited stock so was confused what to put in title lol.

Snapdragon888…this is really old and 'hot'. -_-! $1399 is a very crazy price for such a phone but anyway, half is good.

    • Yup 888 is super hot, my K40 Pro with stock miui used to get so hot in games It was uncomfortable to hold and felt like it was going to explode the battery :o swapping to Xiaomi EU rom reduced temps significantly though, although I suspect it's just throttling earlier with the EU rom to keep temps more manageable/safe.

Hopefully the oppo have better thermal management than Xiaomi.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 might be a controversial mobile CPU because of the overheated issue.

  • Imagine working there on commission nowadays :(

    • I may be missing something obvious - but what's that got anything to do with this promo?

      • Sharetank Dude used to work there.

    • Depends if it's got a rebate sku I guess.

      Probably no spiv on these

  • My wife needs a new phone was going to buy her something this week. Anyone in Wellington interested in going halfs on this deal? Anything else good. Looking to spend $500-$1000 on a new phone for her.

Consider giving OnePlus a shot. In my experience, they outshine Samsung in terms of value and longevity. For instance, my wife used the OnePlus 6 for more than 4 years, and it performed flawlessly. Now, her mom is using it, while she has switched to a Samsung S22. Meanwhile, I opted for the OnePlus 9, and it's been an incredible phone. I can't help but notice my wife's daily frustration with the S22's battery life, while I constantly praise the performance of my OnePlus lol

      • The Galaxy S23+ and up is significantly better for performance and especially battery life. It's both more efficient and a larger battery, I can easily get through a day with it. But yes, previously Samsung's did have an issue with battery life. My older Galaxy S6 was terrible. I've since hopped around with LG, Google, and OnePlus, but I can now say that Samsung has matured enough now.

      • Oneplus 7 pro is the best phone I had I think.

Loved the face scanning popup camera and everything else about it was really good. I used it to play gta SA on our tv during lockdown,

Snapdragon888 lol, Does anyone know if Huawei is coming back to NZ? Really like their new Mate 60 pro.

    • I doubt they'd bother. Their stuff became frustrating to use when the google services integration ended.

It really didnt help them calling their appstore/apk finder 'petal search'.

Lots of returns of the cheaper huawei phones when that happened.

  • Price is a grand at heatchcotes and cheaper at importers.

Still not a bad bundle but there's no fine x6 in NZ afaik

    • Oppo's Find X6 Pro's camera looks pretty amazing, one of the best rated cameras on any smartphone (beats the Samsungs on DXOmark), the Hasselblad (the company NASA use for all their cameras for Space Missions since they began), colour calibration seems to make quite a difference in terms of reproducing natural colours.

  • Avoid the 888 cpu. It's great in winter but horrible in summer.
