Temu: 15% Cashback @ Kiwi Wallet (New Customers Only)

10

I don't know about you guys, but I've been wasting a lot of money buying quite a few things from Temu.

I didn't even know Kiwiwallet did cashback at Temu, but I got an email saying it's increased to 15% cashback (unsure of expiry).

Things I've bought from Temu: lots of toys for the kids (which have provided a decent amount of entertainment for cost, the kids still even play with some of the toys!), phone cases, kitchen accessories, car accessories, travel accessories, clothing items (which can be quite hit and miss).

Albeit the quality of some stuff is not the best, but some are actually decent. They do free returns which has been pretty easy to do (sometimes they even just let you keep the items). The shipping has always been 1-2 weeks too.

  • Using a voucher code not listed on our website void your cashback.
  • Cashback may not track successfully when you have AdBlock installed on your browser.
  • AliExpress.com cashback can be only earned simply by clicking through Kiwiwallet to the merchant and shop as normal.
  • Cashback will not be paid if the goods or services are returned and cancelled.
  • Cashback is payable on the net value excluding delivery, GST and other taxes.
  • Cashback is available on genuine and tracked transactions completed totally online.
  • Cashback rates are subject to change both up and down at any time without prior notification.
  • The majority of transactions are tracked successfully, rarely a transaction may not get reported. If you believe this to be the case, please raise the Missing Cashback ticket immediately.

KiwiWallet sucks. Used them a few times, always have to send them a support ticket because of missing cashback(s). Even after I provided proof that I did click on the links via KiwiWallet website (it registers under activity history) and also provided purchase receipt on the same day from the retailer, they were reluctant to offer the cashback. They also take ages to get back to you and ask very stupid questions that could have been asked in the initial email. Instead, they choose to separate out the emails and drag on the conversation, making you wait for days per email.

"Cashback may not track successfully when you have AdBlock installed on your browser."
That's not true. I have uBlock Origin installed but disabled and even whitelisted the KiwiWallet site. Checked the logs, it's not doing any blocking, great. But still, no cashback from KiwiWallet. They couldn't see that I had clicked the merchant link from their site, despite it showing very clearly under the activity history under my KiwiWallet account.

Anyway, you can get the browser extensions to tell you if there are cashbacks for the site you're browsing:
    https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/kiwiwallet-cashback…
    https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/cashrewards/foehlpa…

Don't forget the browser extensions for Cheapies and OZBargain. Makes it easy to check for any deals or coupon codes on the site.

And if you have Dosh, then make your payment using that and you get additional cashback.

    • Agreed, I've had nothing but problems with obtaining cash back via KiwiWallet.

Even with this offer their posting is just plain unclear giving them lots of wiggle room to deny your claim. The Terms & Conditions refer to AliExpress, not Temu, and there is no mention in the T&Cs if the offer is available to everyone or just new customers. The only hint elsewhere on the page is "Special Terms: The offer is available to New Temu Customers". Is that "only" new customers or everyone including new customers?

At least CashRewards make it perfectly clear. New Temu Customers 10%,Return Temu Customers 2.8%.

  • I'm new to using Kiwiwallet and hear about issues obtaining cashback

I know it takes a while to receive it - when it says theres a balance in "Pending Cashback" does this mean my future self will actually get it one day or is it possible that it might just disappear?

    • From kiwiwallet it might not get approved. I still have like $26 pending since 2+ years and haven't really bothered to contact them.

It's much different for cashrewards. 99% it gets approved if tracked. 1% you contact them and if it's genuine purchase it will be credited. Their CS are great. I highly recommend cashrewards.

I only go through kiwiwallet, if cashrewards doesn't offer any cashback. I always consider this as a bonus if it works.

      • When you use Cashrewards, how do you withdraw the money if you don't have an Aussie bank account? (I think this was discussed a while ago, but I can't find the thread).

Use Wise, which lets you create multiple virtual accounts for different countries / currencies. Once you have the money in your Wise AUD account, transfer it to your NZ account with better FX than most other places. From there, spend the money on your Wise account or transfer it to your own NZ bank account.

Wise also has a card that you can get and use overseas as well. Works very well for withdrawing money from foreign ATMs with very little fees.

There's also Revolut and others out there.

          • @NovaAlpha: Yeah planning to use Wise for our upcoming Aussie trip.

But how do you get money from Cashrewards into Wise? (I assume once the cashback is approved, the money sits in the Cashrewards account waiting to be withdrawn).

When you deposit money into a Wise account, they provide a NZ bank account number to deposit money into. But I assume when you withdraw money from Cashrewards, you need to give them an Aussie bank account number.

@NovaAlpha: Edit: Never mind, found answer to my own question. Opening a virtual account in Wise with Aus currency will give you an Aus bank account number to deposit money into. Thanks :)

PayPal, then transfer to NZ bank. Just transferred A$43 out of my Cashrewards account today.

          • @Wakrak: Ah yep nice, didn't know you could withdraw to a PayPal account. Thanks!

          • @Wakrak: Do you have AU paypal? on mine it says I can only link NZ bank account. Would also rather keep it in AUD for when holidaying there

            • @spam: No just a standard NZ PayPal.

              • @Wakrak: ah, I misunderstood. Thought you had AU wise account linked to your paypal for cashing out cashrewards

Paypal or wise as mentioned above. Both works fine.
