Just to clarify for others, they hit the order limit of 300. They don't run out of the produce.
You can check again the next day at noon when the next batch of 300 orders is open.

That's what I mean and the deal for the next day may change. I have a website monitor that checks for changes on Farmers Box every 5 mins. Aussie mangoes went from $9 to $6 but this wasn't the case on Monday and Tuesday. Again, this was posted too late

        • Do you see Aussie mangoes listed in the OP?

Outside of the brussels sprouts which must've sold out, the deals are still there, so why are you persisting with this angle?

          • -2

@Plug: My point is that I bought $6 aussie mangoes from farmers box a few days ago, but the deal only came up in the last few days. It wasn't there on monday or tuesday. Hence my point that some of these may be valid for just that day or 2, sometimes only for just that afternoon. If ypu post a deal and the site already shows the 300 order limit has been reached, then u might have missed out already.

Some people just cant understand simple concepts. There have been many cheapies deals that expire so quickly within just a few hours.

            • @NovaAlpha: But the deals are still valid. You could easily have checked this prior to posting instead of making assumptions that have proven to be incorrect

              • @Plug: How could I have checked when OP posted the deal at 5:31pm, well after the 300 orders limit has been reached? There's no way to place an order anymore at that point, and the deal could be gone the next day, hence why I said it was posted way too late.

But don't worry, next time I see something I'll post it at 6pm and if the deal is gone the next day, tough luck for you guys.

By waiting to check and then commenting?

Their main deals are week-long, just like the supermarkets. They list them in their Facebook page in addition to their website.

… okay? Like you said, there are regularly deals posted which expire quickly - how is that a problem?

                  • @Plug: How are you not getting it?

                    • Post deal at e.g 6pm
                    • Max order limit reached. Can't place order.
                    • Check the next day, deal gone or price increased. You can't guarantee the exact same deal will still be there the next day, because there is no promise provided. There's only a 50% chance that you might be right about the deal still bring valid the next day.

If there's a deal at say JB HiFi and it ends today, and I post the deal at 11:59pm, you won't have a problem with that too?

Also, not all the farmers market main deals are week long. I bought the bananas from them at like 23 cents and it was one day only. The price could vary.

Case in point, I just checked and lettuce is no longer 0.96 cents and no more brussel sprouts deal found. Week long deal my ass.

                    • @NovaAlpha: How are you not getting it? Check your facts before you criticise a person's post is my point.

Items going out of stock during deal periods are common. This can happen with every store, and when it does, the post ideally gets reported and amended or labelled as "OUT OF STOCK".

If there's a deal at say JB HiFi and it ends today, and I post the deal at 11:59pm, you won't have a problem with that too?

Deals have been posted with expiries of under an hour and members (including myself) have been able to benefit from them. I don't know what you're trying to argue here.

                      • @Plug: Facts:
                        - The deal was posted at 5:31pm. Website order had already closed. It is impossible to make a purchase at that point and therefore valid to state that the deal was posted too late.
                        - Deals are not guaranteed to be valid the next day, let alone the rest of the week. I already gave 2 examples of the deals I purchased that were only valid for either just that one afternoon, or the next day or 2. Definitely not week-long deals.
                        - Wayback Machine snapshot proves that the deal was in fact not week-long deals. Nobody but you mentioned "week-long deals" here.
                        - You're the one spouting BS about how their deals are week-long. Just empty words and no substance. All I did was called out your BS.

Ironic, you've proven my point. These deals expire quickly and it wasn't possible to make the purchase on the same day that the deal was posted. This isn't the same thing as purchasing a deal that's due to expire in 1 hour. What's the point of posting a deal well after the order on the website has been closed? Again, there's no guarantee that the deal will still be valid the next day.

Deals have been posted with expiries of under an hour and members (including myself) have been able to benefit from them.

And you think that's fine? You'd rather a select few benefit from late deals? Would you like all the deals to be posted within 1 hour of expiry from now on then? Or would it make more sense if the deals could be posted a lot earlier, giving more members the opportunity to purchase them?

If I post a deal at 11:59pm and it's due to expire literally within the next minute (tomorrow), then the lucky few people who bought the deal within that minute could very well have enjoyed the deal, but 99% of the Cheapies users wouldn't. And you think that's fine. Great logic you've got there.

Check their Facebook page like I referenced earlier in this stupid argument.

You were wrong here, at the time of posting the majority of the deals were still valid. I checked them myself.

If I post a deal at 11:59pm and it's due to expire literally within the next minute (tomorrow), then the lucky few people who bought the deal within that minute could very well have enjoyed the deal, but 99% of the Cheapies users wouldn't. Logic? It's reality. Deals get posted like that with some regularity. You have to be quick. It is never an issue

                          • @Plug: Dude, it has been 3 days and you had to bring this up again? Let it go man.

You seem to have a hard to accepting actual real facts. Doesn't matter what they post on Facebook, the fact that you claimed it's a week-long deal when it's NOT the case is already making you look embarrassing. I have already provided factual evidence proving that the deal last week was in FACT, not week-long deal:

                            https://web.archive.org/web/20231014225441/https://farmersbo…
                            https://web.archive.org/web/20231014225352/https://farmersbo…

And OK, let's get everyone to post deals just 1 minute before expiry. See how many like it. You're arguing for the sake of arguing at this point. Too bad you can't argue well.

We are giving up with this. We have ordered 3 times now. First time, things were missing. Second time the box was destroyed with tomatoes and strawberries etc floating around inside. This week every single banana was squashed, the lemons literally had mold on them, tomatoes also squashed and the celery was damaged (slug/snail?) to the point where we threw out 90% of it.
Sure stuff was refunded when we let them know, but having to do this each and every time is just a PITA and defeats the purpose of this sort of service, as we need to go and get all the missing/damaged stuff.
We gave it a good go, but its just easier to go and get it ourselves and be assured of what we are getting.

Yeah, the quality is a bit of hit and miss for me as well. Mostly ok but sometimes it's not worth it
