Jetstar are having another of their return for free sales - book a starter fare within the eligible period and then select an return fare that's labelled '$0'. Dates are between May - August 2016.

Domestic return sale fares are between Auckland / Dunedin / Christchurch / Wellington / Queenstown from $45-75.

International return fares are between:

• Wellington - Melbourne $139
• Wellington - Gold Coast $149
• Auckland - Melbourne $149
• Auckland - Gold Coast $159
• Auckland - Sydney $169
• Christchurch - Melbourne $159
• Christchurch - Sydney $159
• Christchuch - Gold Coast $179
• Queenstown - Gold Coast $169
• Queenstown - Sydney $219
• Queenstown - Melbourne $219

Below are some example international fares which are all return inclusive of taxes. Baggage and CC payment fees are not included.

• $159 Wellington - Melbourne Friday 26 August 2016 Depart 6.45am, Return Monday 29 August 12.45am.
• $159 Wellington - Gold Coast Wednesday 11 May 2016, Depart 12.10pm, Return Sunday 15 May 6.10am
• $149 Auckland - Melbourne Thursday 28 July 2016, Depart 7.35am, Return Sunday 31 July 10.20am
• $159 Christchurch - Sydney Wednesday 27 July 2016, Depart 6.35am, Return Sunday 31 July 7.40pm

Examples of fees and upgrades they will try and sell you - Many of these are selected by default:

• $16 Credit Card fee
• Checked luggage $25+ each way
• Seat Select $5 each way
• Other in flight costs (travel insurance, food, other upgrades)

There are also a range of domestic deals across Jetstars NZ Jet network with the same return for free offer, this deal does not include the new routes serviced by turboprop aircraft.

This deal has been active for a few days however when they originally launched it there was an error which resulted in a large number of flights not showing up as free for the return. This has now been fixed but has meant the sale has been slow to sell which means there is still loads of choice for travel dates.

This is my first deal so feedback is welcome!

  Great deal. Shaw and I were looking at this on Thursday but couldn't find a single $0 return fare. Good to see its working now. Great first post asmcar!

    Here is the explanation of why return fares couldn't be found on Thursday for $0 taken from Jetstar NZ FB page:

    "Due to a system error some customers received their airline flight for free but were inadvertently charged the associated taxes and fees (which are included in the overall fare) for the return flight booked under this sale. We apologise to those affected customers for this inconvenience.

    The system error was fixed earlier this morning and we’re now in the process of refunding any incorrect charges. You can now also search for return journeys in which your flight back will be for $0."

  Good find, btw $16 credit card fee is waived through the use of direct bank deposit (polipay)!

    Don't forget some credit cards have basic travel insurance if used to purchase flights. So credit card fee is needed to activate the insurance for yourself.
