Low cost household Vacuum

Hi,

Our old Dyson dc05 vacuum handle has broken.

I'm after a normal vacuum (not a stick one)

I'm after a bag less one with fairly big compartment.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I was hoping to get one for under $400.

I was considering this one:

Anyone know of a good one?

Consumer gave that an okay review.

    68 overall
    78 for cleaning
    80 for pet hair removal

Their only bad point about it was that it was noisy.

I have owned three Bissell appliances.. a stick vacuum, a canister vacuum and an upholstery cleaner. Personally I wouldn't recommend the brand. Yip they work ok to start with but pretty quickly you'll notice how cheap they feel.
Our cannister vaccum's lid latch broke within first month or so the slot for storing the wand also broke and bits fell off vaccum. The upright vaccum makes lots of noise but doesn't suck well and air comes in and out every plastic gap. The upholstery cleaner doesn't suck like it used to - we've changed to hoover for shampooing upholstery and much better performance

I advocate for this kmart one always (Look at the reviews). So solid and a fraction of the price some people pay for the smallest amount of convenience. Crazy some of these people consider themselves cheapies with $1000 stick vacuums. You could replace this vacuum every year for 15+ years for the price of one of those. (Even if you got yours for $600, it's still one for 10 years)
