Trampoline Recommendations For Toddler

Was looking at buying a trampoline for the, to be 3 year old daughter. I have seen a few different ‘sales’ advertised online but am unsure as to what I should be looking for, which ones are better value or quality and if these RRP’s are just inflated?

I see the below from farmers, does anyone have any opinions on these or others they would recommend?

Thank you

  • That's a good price for the Plum Play ones, they are often 50% off, but I've never seen them that cheap before. Quality is reasonable, we have one, but you can get similar quality ones for less: this KMart one has very good reviews, for example: https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/14-foot-trampoline-with-encl…

Spending anything more than about $500 for a trampoline of this sort of construction does seem to be over the top, but there are several things you may wish to pay more for: "Springfree" is considered by some to be the gold standard, but traditional spring designs are often better for jumping on. Other trampolines offer easier construction and longer warranties such as this one from Trade Tested: https://www.tradetested.co.nz/p/home-outdoor-living/sports-o….

As for size, bigger is better but make sure you have enough flat space for it: 14 foot is pretty big!

Lastly, don't forget to get an anchor kit when you buy it. The last thing you want is for your new trampoline to end up on the neighbour's car in a storm.

  • We bought ours a few years ago and ended up going with Jumpflex based on recommendations from friends.
It's a lot cheaper than Springfree but still really good quality.

Everything has lasted including the safety net which can withstand adults jumping into it and off it. Quite often with the cheaper ones you'll see the netting is broken and falling off.

Putting it out there as my 4 year old has had sprains playing on trampoline.. Something to consider for under 6 years old kids.

  • Thank you for your input CheapAzChips and BlackLab. I will have a good look through those and do a little research on them. Cheers Cheapkiwi, I didn’t know that they didn’t recommend for children under 6, maybe the occasional jump at the neighbours or gym might be the way to go perhaps until a little further down the track? I will discuss with the other half and see what she thinks about it as well.
