Valve Steam Deck (64GB) $898 + Shipping ($0 with Primate) @ Mighty Ape

30

Quite a good price, cheapest it’s ever been in NZ according to PriceSpy, and you’ll also get a warranty and CGA protection which is a benefit compared to importing from the US. The 256GB and 512GB are also on sale.

You can also get free shipping if you create a new account and sign up for the Primate trial.

Steam Deck comes with Samsung Charging - Super Fast Charge TA 45W (with cable).

Yeah - the new OLED version has a better and bigger screen, better battery life and a quieter fan and a few other small changes. Valve are selling off the remaining stocks of the low capacity LCD versions, which I assume is why Mighty Ape are doing the same. (This 64GB version is currently discounted to around NZD $600 in the US).

OLED version is so much better. Anyone wanting to get this should wait for it to come out instead of getting this.

        • Second this and i expect another price drop in a few months

  • Worth looking at DSE too - I got mine for pretty cheap from AU & I believe because its a NZ storefront you still get warranty stuff

  • Must be clearing out ready for the OLED models. I'd be really tempted to pick up the refurb units from valve when the OLED ones start to appear on that scheme and have it dropshipped over. Just wish Gabe would still them here seeing as he's bunkered up in his mansion here.

  • At the link below they say they are selling for $399. Even if that's USD that would only be NZ$677.51 today.

  • There are cheaper options on Amazon at the moment.

256GB version is $603(USD) (incl. shipping and GST) and should work out to something like $1029(NZD) assuming you pay with something that has good currency conversion like Wise. $100 cheaper than Mighty Ape but you don't have local warranty.

If you want the OLED then YouShop through NZ Post probably works out to be cheaper than DSE/Kogan or whatever prices Mighty Ape is going to have once it's available.

    • That's actually my plan though MyUS will be cheaper than YouShop. However, steam's anti VPN is good. Tried surfshark and tunnel bear but still not available to your country even those regular LCD decks. I read from other steam may also not sell me or cancel my order if it's not a US addressed credit card. I'm not sure if wise or paypal will work.

      • Apparently when it came to the vive they were really strict. Linus Tech tips were saying the other week that they literally had to have someone in the US buy it with a US credit card to a US address. Any part of the chain not being correct lead to a cancelled order. I'd imagine they'd have contacts and methods to get around that to get stuff up to Canada where they are but couldn't get around the restrictions on the vive sales.
