I'm looking for a dashcam that will also function as a reversing camera to go in our camper, which is a medium sized bus and a pain to reverse.
please hit me with your recommendations.

Yeah - basically a rear view camera with an always on display ( or at least on when in reverse) as well as dash cam functionality. Probably (in response to another post, just a forward and reverse camera - no need for the internal cab view)

Correct. Dash cams typically come in single, double or triple (cabin camera e. g. for Uber).
It really depends on what your priorities are. If it's mainly for the reversing camera function then resolution and field of view aren't a big deal. What you'll be interested in is screen size. Plus make sure it mirrors the image as it can be a mind bender otherwise.
However if you really want a dash cam as well as the reversing functionality then you should be interested in resolution and field of view. If you have an incident but afterwards you can't make out the number plate from the footage then it's no better than having no dash cam at all
As for a recommendation I can't help you as I only own the one cam and it has a screen too small to be practically used for reversing (I have tried!). I went for Viofo as it sat in a sweet spot of features, reviews, and price. I think they have a sale on now (check the cheapies listings). Unsure if their range includes large screen models.
I'm interested in the responses as I've just started researching it myself, the last one we had was tiny and I wired it into our very low budget headset so it came on in reverse but it wasn't the best quality. This was several years ago so the market has changed a lot. This time around I need one that goes to a caravan we're towing that we basically want to use as a rear view camera with an always on display. Which are you after?
