Bosch 18V Reciprocating Saw (Skin Only) $199 + Shipping @ Hector Jones ($169.15 via Pricematch Bunnings, + Redemption Offers)

120

This particular reciprocating saw is usually $296 at Bunnings, but I got it for $169.15 after price match against Hector Jones. They also have other tools on sale.

The cherry on top is that Bosch (and some others) have redemption offers currently https://www.boschbluecrew.co.nz/Promotions
So, I will get a 5ah battery from Bosch as well. Costs about $200 on its own.

Lots of other redemption offers available as well if you are looking for something else (but may not be on sale at Hector Jones).

I own a couple of Bosch blue tools and really like them, they have a 6year warranty if you register them for most of the range.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

Is this one included? The website only gives SKU numbers which seem different to the model numbers on the photo that explains which tools are eligible.

It would be an even cheaper way to get the battery. Tool is $149. Value of battery. $175.50 (on sale)

I think it could be this one. So is on the list. Would perhaps be the cheapest eligible tool

It's in the Bunnings exclusive section, page 8, fifth item down.

    • yep that would be an option, the circular saw hector jones also has is at bunnings too. I already own that drill (or a very similar one) and its still going strong so no need to get another :)

  • does the blue battery fit on the green charger?
I have some bosch green tools from m10

    edit: looks like not compatible

IslandStyles do you live near the Hector Jones store? I reckon I'd be SOL if I tried this with my local Bunnings in Auckland.

    • Shouldn’t be if they are the exact same item

nah im in Christchurch, the sales person asked where Hector Jones was, I just said I didn't know and she didn't care enough to check herself, i was pretty happy to by from hector jones if bunnings said no anyway. $10 shipping was reasonable

    • The redemption offer says Bunnings exclusive. So I think the point is you HAVE to buy from Bunnings to get the redemption?

  • No-go at Bunnings Te Rapa. Claimed "every day prices" and not pricematch on sales items.

  • Went to bunnings in Auckland today to try to price match but they said because Hector Jones is closed today, they can't price match and to go back tomorrow and try again.

    • Bunnings constellation drive would match the price but wouldn't beat it because it was a sale item, the girl was about to do it but the guy there told her not to. Still 200 with the battery via redemption is a decent deal

      • They're just making it up as usual.

Their price policy doesn't exclude sale items, only ' trade quotes, stock liquidations and commercial quantities' so they definitely should have beaten by 15%

  • Bunnings Glenfield would not honour on the basis of Hector Jones not open on Sunday.
Mitre 10 next door were happy to take my money though.

    • Did Mitre10 match their price or beat them by 15%?

        Got it for $169

  • I'll test in Christchurch Shirley branch tomorrow, thats too good a deal to miss.

  • Okay so got Bunnings to price beat it but before that I had to debate with literally every staff member in the front of the store.
What’s the point of advertising “price beat” when the staff will make every excuse in the book make an argument “why they cannot price beat”
“Oh, it’s not same product”, “Oh we cant beat on sale items”, “Oh but Hector Jones is over 55km away”
Seriously, it came to the point where they pissed me off so much that I bought 2 of these once they agreed to price beat.

    • +1

lol, I love that you bought two because of how painful they were ;)

    • +1

I was told we cant beat it because you cant get to the store today before closing (in fairness it was 4pm and Im in Auckland) and they had denied someone else here an hour earlier. I was like "What speed do you anticipate me driving, Im trying to work out what time I need to show up here to get this to work" Obviously I didnt get a response but if anyone has time to go into Glenfield and give it a go this morning Im interested to hear what their excuse is.

It’s like they just assume I don’t have my own private jet 🤫😂

  • Anyone have any joy at Bunnings in Christchurch? I just tried and was told that Bunnings have a redemption offer but also Hector Jones charges $10 to ship so it's actually more expensive now Bunnings has this for $208.

    • +1

ah yea they have changed their price might make it hard, their policy does say including shipping so yea guess they wont have to price beat if its 208 now.

      • Damn. They must have realised this would be enough of a price drop to get around it. Wonder if the online store will price match for Bunnings - will update my post later if they do!

    • Cant you argue you will collect??

      • +1

Sadly Christchurch to Hastings is a little far to collect….

  • Still possible to pricematch online, as even with shipping this is cheaper via Hector Jones. Managed to have an order generated by the online team to take into store to fulfill. Although even when there the CSR at the Bunnings store said they can't do it as the computer won't let them (or words to that effect). This was despite being presented with emails from Bunnings CS Team saying to go into a store to collect, with the price stated on Bunnings letterhead. The lengths they will go to in order to avoid price matching!
