I could never go back to bagless after getting a Miele, the power is on a different level. Makes dysons look like a floor duster.

    • I do have one of these and it is good. But also have a hoover bagless and the suction on that is just as good. The difference is the rotating heat on the miele which picks up hairs.

  • I've looked at this before (getting it from Amazon AU). There would be no warranty though - does that matter?

    • Are you sure the warranty won't cover AU and NZ ?

Some electronics companies lump us together under warranty conditions.

      • yes I asked Miele NZ

  • I have this for 7 years now. Going strong. Will never use any other vacuum. It is simply the best.

  • +1

I have this and a cheap dyson wireless.
    perfect combo

  • Suction is strong, on full power my wife struggles to push the standard vacuum head (non turbo head) along the carpet, and if you lift up the head it lifts the carpet up of the floor.

    • Do you have to clean the turbo head of hair? Or does no hair get tangled in it?

      • Definitely have to clear of tangled hair… My wife hates using it as a result. But i regularly used the turbo head on my Miele C3 Turbo.

      • A lot of other manufacturers are using large diameter anti hair wrap brush rollers now, except Miele. Even Shark. I don't know why Miele doesn't innovate on this front.

We have a lot of long hair in our house and use a LG A9 cordless. Rarely have to clear hair from it's roller brush.

        • Same re: long hair. It does my head in detangling it.

          • @Foodie: I'd love to get a Miele due to their reputation, but hair pickup and anti hair wrap are the two features I look for and none of their models have anything special there. The turbo brush design is the same as our old Nilfisk that clogged constantly - only air powered with thin roller.

      • Very tangled. I prefer to not use the turbo head BC I don't like cleaning it. Wife likes to use the turbo head BC it's easier to push around.

  • Harvey norman has 2 models/skus for this vacuum with different prices. Wonder what the difference is.

    • +1

Often they are supplier agreements so they can claim they’re different models and avoid price matches 😂

      • One is on clearance, so I'm assuming the other is simply an updated model

        • Hmm looking again it looks like the one on clearance has a 2000W motor, while the other one has an "eco" 890W motor.

Is the upgrade a weaker motor? Or is somehow the new 890w motor as powerful as the old 2000w motor?

          • +5

@Stoic: EU vacuum cleaner regulations now limit to 900W.

      • Makes sense if Harvey norman wasn't selling both models.

    • Possibly with and without the turbo head

  • We do not have pets, any advantage in getting this over the normal C3 Complete? The lowest price I saw on this previously was $549 at Farmers few months back.

    • +2

The pet version has the turbo brush attachment and HEPA filter I believe.

    • +1

The turbo head (a lot easier to push round at full power setting)is the best accessory but if used excessively on wool carpet it will wear it out but excellent for synthetics and certainly not the charcoal filter which they recommend changing every year at $40 a pop except if you have allergies of course.

      • The turbo head looks to be good value. Paying slightly more from the C3 Complete though

  • +1

I had to do a double take because I saw the price of $4659.81 for a vacuum cleaner but realised after clicking the link it's actually $495.81

      wakrak has gone rogue

    • +3

Looks like @Wakrak has few too many already before Christmas. Lol.

Moved up from ‘Power User’ to ‘Exchange Rate Influencer’

    • +1

the head looks different. Also, don't know whether it includes the HEPA filter

    • +1

Nope, that's not the same one. The one you linked is the C3 "Family" (grey model), not "Cat and Dog" (red model).

Here is the equivalent one you're looking for in NZ: https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/miele-complete-c3-cat-dog-ba…

      • That NL one is slightly different to the Amazon one. Different SKU 12396510 vs 11071460, and it looks like 890w motor vs 2000w motor.

  • Highly recommend

Bag pack us cheap was like $89 on special for 16 bags 8 filters. From Miele website.
    https://shop.miele.co.nz/en/vacuum-cleaners/vacuum-cleaner-a…

Charcoal filter the only expensive thing.
    https://shop.miele.co.nz/en/vacuum-cleaners/vacuum-cleaner-a…
    https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/buy/desafio-active-hepa-filte…

    • I just get the xl pack with 8 bags + 1x hepa filter.

Edit: not full price of course..

      • Where from?

        • Noel, CSC group discount.

  • Can anyone provide details on the 2000W SKU vs the 890W SKU? besides the price, is the performance equivalent? Are the included accessories identical?

  • Is there any way to confirm the model Amazon is selling is 2000W? It says 890W in the description.

    • I can't find the 890W in the description but to confirm is to look at the model SKU (thanks to @Stoic for pointing that out)

      11071460 - 2000W
      12396510 - 890W

Amazon AU deal posted is the 2000W.

      • It's under 'Find the right Miele vacuum' near the bottom of the description where it says it has a 890W motor.
Interestingly, if you search that 890W SKU you find sites selling it saying it is 2000W… https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/miele-complete-c3-cat-and-dog…

        • I think they have yet to update the technical specification section in the link you provided but under the photos carousel it does state 890W in the first line of description.

It's evident that Miele is phasing out the 2000W model and retailers are still adjusting their websites (obviously not very smoothly!) to the new 890W model.

Stick to the SKU, you shouldn't go wrong with that. Are you going to buy from Amazon AU even with no warranty?

          • @CheapieSniper: The warranty is pretty much the only thing stopping me from buying it right now. Still considering it. I have currently a Miele cat and dog vacuum that is about 13-15 years old, still working okay but some of the plastic parts are starting to break and cause issues. Hoping if I buy this one the quality will be similar and warranty won't be required…

  • When this Amazon AU deal was posted, I was about to jump on it immediately as it has been on my watchlist for some time. That is until I saw @quacko's comment about having no warranty if I buy it from Amazon AU.

I looked into it and sure enough, under MieleNZ's Terms of Sale:

    9.WARRANTY
Persons who independently import Miele products have no right, claim or demand
against Miele Australia or New Zealand relating to post purchase support or service
including the any voluntarily, express or implied product warranty.

So the dilemma is, do I buy from Amazon AU for NZD$539~ with no warranty OR do I buy in NZ for an extra NZD$150~ that comes with the 2 year warranty.

Tried to play out possible scenarios (i.e. if Amazon AU's vac turns up faulty, would it cost more than $150 to remedy? etc) in my head but have been unable to come to a conclusion on my own so would like to reach out to Cheapies community and see what you guys would if you were in the position to buy this vacuum cleaner.

Any constructive input/advise would be greatly appreciated.

    • i would honestly ask amazon , they are very good for warranty and returns

    • You could argue the case with Amazon. What anyone could do about it is another story.
