I know nothing about RC cars but would like to get one to gift someone(adult). Any recommendation is much appreciated. Is there any decent deal at the moment or I'm also looking for boxing day deals. Preferably that uses rechargeable battery. I was looking at the below from kmart but not sure if its worth it.

Thank you, will check that! I'm looking to get one for an adult.
wltoys make good rc cars, but you'd be buying from aliexpress.
This is a great car, but depends on your budget:

What is age of child.
I think for under 5 then something very cheap as they tend to break it anyway. Something that will flip over our turn and continue driving when you drive into a wall, as opposed to a regular RC car which will continue to drive forward and eventually wear out the motor BC toddlers just good down the trigger button continuously.Check out John Robinson RC on YouTube
Allot of good brushless affordable RC car review and repair guides
How old is the recipient?
If your not in a rush the one from china that is posted here fairly regularly is petty decent.
