Arccos Golf GPS Sensors: Free Smart Sensors (+$13.99 AUD Shipping) @ Arccos Golf

40

Arccos golf club sensors are usually about $339 in NZ. If you purchase a Cobra golf club you can register on this page and receive a full set of them for just the shipping price. However I thought I would see what information the form requires and they sent me the sensors with no confirmation of purchase - I don't own a cobra club and they didn't even ask if I did.

The catch is that you get a 45 days free membership and after that you will need to pay for a year Arccos caddie membership. If you just want to try them out, then make sure to cancel the membership before the 45 days but beware that when you cancel it will end immediately so make sure you do it closer to the end of the trial. To cancel, check the emails when you signed up and there is a link at the bottom.

I haven't received mine yet, but they are on the way.

Hey so if you cancel the subscriptions the sensors won’t work anymore? You need the subscription for the app to work?

From what I understand that is correct.

    • Correct. No app subscription, no sensor functionality.

The “free” sensors are really just a sort of bait-and-switch - using this offer, you get a 45 day “free trial” of the app before paying the annual subscription (billable up-front - it’s not a pay monthly, cancel any time kind of vibe).

If you pay for the sensors up front, a 12 month app membership is included. Both work out to something in the region of $250-300, with the free hardware deal offering more in terms of apparent value and flexibility.

I imagine the sensors cost them very little. I've only just got back in to golf so I thought it will be fun to try them out for a month and then cancel. I definitely have more fundamental stuff I need to improve before these will actually benefit me.

        • Same here on the fundamentals, although for me it’s all pretty new so I don’t know what I don’t know! The reviews of the product are good enough to give me some confidence that using it certainly can’t hurt my prospects, and might even help me to build some good understandings of play and form better habits from the outset. I went all-out and opted for the 50% off “Link” bundle - the bastards got me good! 🤣

Kudos to you for posting the deal too mate, thank you. Happy new year and good golfing!

  • $399 plus a $12USD monthly subscription seems like a lot, even for golf shit.

In NZ I don't think it actually is, especially if you can access rural golf courses. I lived in Germany for awhile and there you need a license to play so it is a bit more exclusive - I didn't bother playing there.

        • Agreed. My local used to be $12.50 for 9 holes, but changed to $25 a few months back - but it is in line with other local courses so can't really complain. And getting a full secondhand set for ~$100 is very achievable.

    • It depends on how someone would define “a lot”.

I’m a newb to golf, and I love me some tech (especially on a deal). For me, an offer like this is an opportunity to invest a few hundred bucks into something that (if I use it as intended) should give me some helpful, personalised, evidence-based guidance so I can improve my play in the coming year. If not, well, no harm done, and at least I get to geek out with a new gadget and some analytics for a while.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

You should check out the app Hole19. It tracks your distance via GPS (among many other things) so it's a pretty good way to know how far you've hit a particular club.

        • I use golf pad it's free. Gives informations like approx distance etc. Can select which club you hit with as well. I've had no issues with it
