Not bad if their pricing wasnt so expensive to begin with (and they price matched).

Agree, they are a rip off.

    • Why not buy second hand?

I assume you ride a hemp bicycle everywhere then and have hemp clothing? As far as consumption / pollution goes, LEGO wouldn't even register on the chart. You do you though. A lot of my LEGO is 30+ years old and still going strong.

@Fragluton: You have to pick your battles. Buying LEGO is inherently worse for the environment than not buying it, and if that's a battle they chose, so be it.

LEGO does have a benefit of being made to last and still very desirable second-hand, so at least a lot of it remains in circulation instead of being some cheap junk that's clogging up landfills.

My kids play with the same Lego I was given by my parents as a kid. I'm sure it will be handed down to their kids too.

Lego may be plastic but it's made to last. Unlike most of the toys kids play with

        • You're gonna have a fit when you enter a Kmart lol. Especially when you see 10 cents clearance Halloween stuff after the 31st Oct.

Lego bricks would never decompose in normal conditions, and if you throw them into ocean, they could last to 1300 years. I hope you can sleep better at night now :)

    • @roshanNZ I'd happily look at purchasing some of your larger sets depending on what you have.

Yup agree with there being a lot of junk toy waste and also just a lot of crap that is bought from AliExpress etc. My wife is susceptible to marketing and buys a lot of junk that I have to throw away or give to charity.

In saying that I think Lego is reused multiple times by different children and is very durable and is unlikely to be thrown away as it is easy to sell or give away.
