Bargain Chemist suspicious behavior following deal

Would like to know other CC members opinions/experience with Bargain Chemist, as I am a little curious about a recent transaction I've had with them, following a deal posted here on CC.

Now I love cheap dishwasher tablets as much as the next Cheapie so jumped straight on it! I have an online account with BC so logged in as per usual & did the purchase - money came out of my account straight away. However I did not get any email purchase confirmation or anything of the sort… In fact nothing at all until the following day when I received this very generic email;

I am reaching out to inform you of an unexpected issue that has recently affected a small number of our orders. Due to a processing and integration error, there has been a disruption that might impact the timely confirmation and handling of your purchase.

If you have placed an order and have not yet received a confirmation email, we kindly ask you to contact our customer care team for assistance. You can reach them directly at [email protected]
Our team is on standby to promptly address any concerns and ensure your order is processed accurately and efficiently.

Due to New year etc I didn't look into it fully for a few days, forwarded that email to their customer support team and within 4hrs had a reply, order confirmation & tracking No# etc.

Now when I log in its showing as processed, but I'm awaiting some sort of confirmation its ready for pick up. I might be overthinking all of this, but its just seems really odd to me…

What do you think guys, did they just sell out or IT issue/other??

    Just sounds like a very long-winded way to say they had some IT issues. I would follow them up again if your order doesn’t progress any further in the next day or so.

    Sounds legit… is there a local store you can bisit to verify? We had to do that with a Farmers online order stuck on being processed recently.

    Was the email address you received the email from the same as the one the email asked you to get in contact with?

    • Yes & Yes, will call in tomorrow and see if they can assist & will report back what they have to say!

    My click and collect for Dunedin went straight through, email that afternoon that it was ready to collect, and collected the next day (2x Boxes of the tablets) no fuss, no issues.

    Hopefully just some backend glitch at the time you placed your order, sounds like they are aware of it from what they did email, and are interested in trying to make it right - sounds positive anyway.

    Crazy update!

    So yesterday I went and checked my mailbox, and low and behold - box of dishwasher tablets! Which Is kinda strange as I had only brought them as Click & Collect and had only supplied a billing address - no mailing address…

    Guess they must've had a real IT hiccup. Ah well, all's well that ends well I guess - thanks for the advice all :)

    Boxing day I have had the same issue but with jaycar and the issue is still ongoing.
    No email, not on my account orders to begin with.

    After contacting them they said they could add the order to my account for details.

    Since following up
    They tell me there is tracking details that say its at a nzpost depot (can't tell me which one) and cannot update the status (just says processing). They also said they cant provide tracking details to me since the items is only marked as processing which doesnt allow them to upload the details, and they don’t allow verbal sharing of tracking details. ($300 order)

    Still not arrived, contacted several times and still at this mystery nzpost depot

    All mind boggling.

    Don't forget if their IT team is in NZ, whether it's inhouse or external, was probably mostly on holiday until the 8th. Especially with the type of retailer they are, I suspect their online team was also on skeleton staff.
