Men's Health Products, What Does Actually Work?

Starting to navigate this field and need details about what vitamins/supplements to buy/prepare.

Or do I just resort to ready products called men's health of the shelf?

And what does actually give good results?

Looking to be more active, allows me to stay stronger for longer, as I noticed that I'm getting tired pretty quickly these months.

Cheers, and appreciate your input.

  • Go get a bloodtest done reffered by your local GP first. After that they'll know a good indication of what vitamins you're lacking. I'm no gp but most men are usually vitamin B deficient, and that was my root cause of tiredness and lack of energy :) After that you can explore nootropics, r/nootropics is a good place to start.

Assuming you're not deficient in something, which you'll only identify with a blood test, very little of what's for sale over the counter will have any measurable impact on your health and well-being. A really good quality fish oil with adequate amounts of EPA and DHA is worthwhile, a Brazil nut per day for selenium might be beneficial, and creatine will help your muscular endurance (assuming you're not a non-responder to creatine). Otherwise you're looking at clinical treatment (TRT) if low testosterone levels are to blame. There are other things on the market that are popular at the moment (tongkat ali, fadogia agrestis) which might have some efficacy, though clinical evidence for both is pretty thin on the ground.

Looking at your sleep quantity and quality may have a profound impact on your health, aside from any supplements. Poor sleep impacts almost every other facet of our health, and increases severity and ultimately mortality in many health areas from cardiovascular issues to cancer to mental health.

Second on the list for me would be gut health. Lots of super-fascinating research on this has come out recently.

Chlorophyl and berroca work wonders for me. Though I take 1/3 or 1/2 a berocca because I take it daily don't think a whole one is necessary.
And cycling is the favourite for excersize.

If you want to be healthy, exercise and eat less crap.

The vitamin/supplement market is largely a scam, but it might make you feel like you have lost weight because it's excellent at taking all the money out of your pockets.

  • Thanks guys, sorry I didn't mention that in weight and fitness wise, I'm great.
It could be that it's the 40's that I got into is the cause.

It could be a number of things like stress, sleep or diet. Try to eat a balanced diet with leafy greens and a variety of foods and you shouldn't need most supplements. If you're noticeably more tired go to your doctor and they can test your blood for various things and work out if you're actually deficient and need a supplement. They'll also likely test your blood pressure. It could be iron, thyroid or a multitude of other things. Best to get checked out properly rather than just taking supplements.
Fitness wise are you doing anaerobic exercise (weights/body weight work outs) as well as aerobic (running/cycling/rowing
or similar increased heart rate activities)? More scientific evidence is suggesting it is very beneficial to incorporate some anaerobic execise as well as aerobic, as it prevents muscle loss as we age.
