$0 Rosetta Stone Subscription (1 Free Language Only Per Email Address) @ Rosetta Stone (Requires Mobile Device)

620

Rest of the post is a c+p from OzB

Step 1:

Must be done on a mobile device (iPhone or Android, it does not matter)

1a) Download Rosetta Stone App. Google Play link iOS Apple App Store link
1b) Make a new account by clicking 'Get Started'.
1c) Choose Language(for this example I chose Arabic, but any language works!), enter your Email Address and Password
1d) Once created Log Out on the app. Do this by clicking the cog in the top right corner, scrolling all the way down and tapping log out

Step 2:

2a) Press the "Go To Deal" button or click HERE
(See tips further down if you have trouble opening the page)
2b) On page enter the same details that were used in step 1c before. (Note for Username field enter the Email).
2c) Once details are filled out then click 'Sign In'. You should see a page like this if not, do not worry. Follow the tips further down and try again.

I struggled to get step 2 to work at first, however with persistence, I eventually got it! Hang in there, we're nearly done!!

Step 3:

3a) Go back to the App you downloaded before. On the App click 'Log In'. (Down the bottom)
3b) Click 'Work and School' Account type.
3c) Enter your Username and Password.
3d) Enter code "s8476284" in the "Workspace" area. Press sign in.

Success!

(You should see this screen)

Might be a good idea to download courses for offline use!

Tips if struggling to open the link in step 2:

  • Try Copy/Paste the link given in the description rather than following the 'Get Deal' button.
  • Due to shortened partially hidden URLs use: secure.rosettastone. com/lp/ebsco/?custid=s8476284 (and delete the space before 'com'!).
  • Try using Chrome browser if you're on an iOS device.
  • If you're getting an error signing in at the final step, please ensure you used the exact same details for step 1c and 2b.

Should you want more than 1 language then you can rinse repeat with another fresh Email Address.

  • Is this good for a 5 years old learning second language?

    • I'd say probably not. But for free it's also worth a try. I think Duolingo is a great start for kids (or anyone). It's just a starting point, but once they're interested, you can move on to something more advanced

  • +1

Step 2 keeps failing with the following error.

    "This site can’t be reached

s8476284&irgwc.rosettastoneenterprise.com’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

    DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE"

No AdBlock or anything like that. Tried on incognito mode, didn't help either. 3-4 tries didn't change a thing.

OP, when you said you got it with persistence, how exactly was that?

    • I got this error, but only via Chrome on iPhone. Anything else ok.

      • At step 2 I used Safari on iOS and it worked fine.
Never tried Chrome for this so that could be why it worked ok.

    • It didn't work even on a whole range of browsers on the PC. But, the 2nd bullet point in TIPS helped… manually copying & pasting the URL.

      Thank you :)

  • Worked for me thanks. 2 accounts sorted.

  • Success! cheers OP.

For Step 2 I used Firefox on my PC with no issues.

  • Thanks OP. What's this from? Im assuming not a Rosetta offer

    • Unsure. OzBargain OP took it from HotUKDeals, and that person got it from MyDealz (August 2023)

      • Mysterious!
For other language learning options, I'll note that you can likely get Mango Languages for free through your library. For Spanish, SpanishDictionary.com app is great as well as DreamingSpanish.

        • Auckland libraries no longer subscribes to Mango Languages since early 2019.

  • Thanks

  • Legend Wakrak, chur chur!

  • Thanks. Using the chrome app on iPhone worked for me for step 2

  • Anyone know how to run 2 instances of the app on iphone? In order to utilise this "Should you want more than 1 language then you can rinse repeat with another fresh Email Address."

    • Same app, different email address/account/language - i.e. log out of the app from one account and then sign back in with another to switch between the languages option you selected when setting up each new account with a fresh email.

  • Mucho gracias, amigo!

  • Thank you @Wakrak. Much appreciated! Worked as described!

  • It's work for me, Thanks

  • As an alternative, if you are library member in Christchurch, you can access Mango Languages and LanguageNut for free (you can check in your local library is they are also offered). There are Sign Language and Māori courses as well.

Wow, thank you @lhernand, I will do that too.

  • Brilliant worked no problem. Tks wakrak

  • Worked for me cheers

Looks like it's possible to change the language for your one account by using the deal link/step 2 link again after completing everything in the original post, and then selecting a different language.

Once you then log back in to the Rosetta Stone app with the same workspace code, you should find yourself with a new language to learn, without having to create multiple accounts.

This will presumably only work as long as this exploit is unfixed, but figured someone might prefer this to having to juggle 6 different logins.

    1. Log out of your account after completing the entirety of the original post.

    2. Return to the deal / step 2 link. Use same login, but change language to your new preference.

    3. Re-open Rosetta Stone app, log in with same account and s8476284 workspace.

    Voilà!

  • OMG it worked for me! Yay! Thanks Wakrak!!

  • Speaking to someone into languages, he said that this is not a good way to learn. He said buy some text books to build a foundation.

    • Text books don't teach you anything about pronunciation which is vital if you don’t want to end up speaking gibberish to a native speaker of a foreign language. Text books are OK I guess if all you want to do is read in a different language.
