  • Thanks. Bought Mouse Trap for the kids

    • +8

Also available at Countdown Dunedin 🤮

      • Haha good family fun

        • Was thinking of getting MouseTrap for an eight year old - I seem to remember it being fun when I was that age, several hundred years ago (or thereabouts).

  • Gosh, posting out the vouchers? What century is McDs operating in?

    Good deal nonetheless.

They bought several thousand rolls of 'second class' stamps in the late nineties, along with a pallet of envelopes - don't want to write them off, so gotta use them up!

  • Thanks OP.

At first glance, there doesn't appear to be any clause that clearly prevents someone purchasing a game, claiming, and then returning the game while keeping (or after having used) the voucher. To be super careful, you could follow this this timeframe:

    • on 12 March, purchase games (starting the 60 day timeframe for the Warehouse change of mind “Money Back Guarantee”;
    • vouchers should be posted by 17 April (14 working days after the claim deadline);
    • deadline to refund the purchase is 11 May, which allows plenty of time to receive the vouchers and eat your burgers prior to returning the game.

Note you can claim a maximum of 4 times per postal address (there are some T&Cs not mentioned in the post above).

Obviously YMMV (your own risk!), and you might also have ethical qualms about buying a game you intend to refund just to get the voucher. I personally feel pretty fine taking advantage of Hasbro, the Warehouse and McDonalds, but you do you.

dude reminds me of that show better call saul, thanks for the free legal advice!

    • The last sentence "I personally feel fine taking advantage of…" from a law upholding person feels bit manipulative to me. Might have cost you more than think. This is not a personal attack, just that the statement does not sit right with the value the profession needs to uphold.

      • +3

Taking advantage of them implies making use of a loophole that is allowed (or rather, not prohibited) under their terms.

Hes not encouraging any terms be broken, and I personally think a lawyer who is able to understand the fine print and details well enough to get the desired outcome is a good lawyer

I hope you carry the same energy over across to everything else happening on in this planet if you're gonna social justice warrior over this.

In the mean time I'll be over here munching on some Warehouse sponsored McD's

        • +3

Your last sentence worries me. I hope you’re not munching on that whole classic share meal on your own hahaha

Hasbro Limited and The Warehouse Limited reserve the absolute right to refuse to issue vouchers on claims that they determine are not legitimate or in the spirit of the promotion.

Could definitely play the "spirit of the promotion" card if they wanted to (although you may well have finished your McD's by then)

Bit late to refuse to give you the voucher if you already got the voucher and used it?

  • Is the till receipt number the one directly below the barcode? Did anyone get a confirmation email after filling out the online form?

    • Anyone? I originally put in the 5 digit Till number but think that was wrong. I resent with the barcode number.

      • Hi @honza / @Danz91,

Did either of you get a confirmation email?

Was it the longish number under the barcode that we should enter?

        Thanks,

        Alan.

        • No email and I'm guessing that the barcode number is right

  • Any recommended board games from that list to grab?

    • +1

We went for MouseTrap - YMMV :-)

  • Its a good deal, but just expect the Maccas staff to be absolutely clueless when you present the voucher in-store.

  • Is it for any Hasbro product eg. If I bought 2 xHasbro Atomix, or does it have to be for board games ?

    • Since the terms posted above in the OP say 'board games', I'm thinking it means 'boards games'.

Let us know what response you get when you try to claim the voucher for something else - would be good to know.

  • Now buy one get one half price.

    • Not working, added to cart but show original price?

      • Whoops, noticed it yesterday but forgot to post until last night. Sorry.
