Full Flavour's mates rates

You provide the phone and we'll provide you loads of data, talk and text!

I don't know anything about this crowd but they have been around for over a decade and are NZ based.
Credit @Wakrak for highlighting the post on geekzone here

Unlike Kogan / Mighty Mobile they use the Spark network as opposed to One and have eSim as an option too.
Also confirmed that as this is an on-account plan you can reply to short codes.

The pricing indicated ($10 off normal pricing) is obtained by adding the code 'geekzone' to the comments at the bottom of the order form

  • 4GB - $45 ($35 with code)
  • 30Gb - $50 ($40 with code)
  • 1000Gb - $75 ($65 with code)
  • Max Speed data then endless data at reduced speed 1
  • monthly including GST
  • Unlimited 2 Calls to NZ & Aussie
  • Unlimited Texts to NZ & Aussie
  • Hotspotting included
  • Runs on New Zealand's best network for coverage 3
  • Keep your existing number
  • Easy switching with eSIM 4 (or we can post you a new sim if needed)
  • Month to month contract 5
  • Save $10 if you bundle with broadband

  1. What happens after all the max speed data is used?
When you've used all your Max Speed data, your mobile data will still work but at slower speeds of around 1.2Mbps. While it may not be as speedy, you'll still stay connected!
Max Speed data will kick in again on the 1st of the month or if you ask us to upgrade your plan.

  2. Does a fair use policy apply?
We want you to enjoy our mobile services to the fullest, so here are some friendly guidelines:
Fair Usage: Please use our mobile services reasonably, just like most people do. Avoid excessive or unreasonable usage, and you'll be good to go!
Excessive Use Alert: If we, at Full Flavour, or any third-party networks we work with, reasonably believe that your usage is a bit much or not quite fair, we might have to limit or pause your mobile services. But don't worry, we'll always do this in good faith and with your best interests in mind.

  3. What mobile phone network do use?
We utilise the Spark network to provide our mobile phone services to you.
Spark had the best mobile coverage experience in New Zealand according to the October 2023 Mobile Experience Report.

  4. How do sim cards work?
Most phones sold in the past four years support eSIM, which is a digital SIM card.
The process of adding an eSIM to your phone is quite straightforward and involves scanning a QR code that we email to you.
If your phone doesn't support eSIM for some reason, we will courier you a traditional SIM card that you can swap with your existing one.
One benefit of eSIM is it leaves your regular SIM card slot available which might be useful when travelling overseas as you can take advantage of the better rates and allowances a local travel SIM card provides.

  5. Am I locked into a contract?
While you will be required to agree to our Mobile Terms and Standard Terms, you aren't locked into a long-term contract.
We do require 30 days notice to cancel a plan.

Still think the kogan half off is better then buy a 2degrees sim/esim with $10 credit for texting numbers back and its for the whole year. Its 15gb a month, but I don't even come close to it lol.
It's about $14.58 a month incl the 2degrees one time top up lol 😂

    • Running dual sim as well 😁

    • +1

I went the opposite, kept my prepaid plan for calls and texts that's accumulating rollover data while I abuse the mighty mobile $1 intro Sim cards for unlimited data for 6 months.

      • Haha that's even better lmaoo

        • It's so simple I can't believe I never thought of using the second Sim slot in this way before.

    • +1

Can you step by step this for my understanding? So your txting is on one sim and your data is on the other sim?

      • If you're asking me that's exactly it, on a Samsung phone (as it's the one I use) you can pop in two or have an esim and a physical Sim. Then in the options configure what is primarily used for each service. So I have a spark prepaid SIM on calls and texts then the mighty mobile for data. You could do the opposite as other said and have your Kogan running everything with a cheap prepaid SIM for responding to paid for texts.

      • Yes I txt normally and use data on my kogan.
If I need to txt back to a number like confirming a doctors appointment I use the 2degrees sim. :).

I can also switch the data to either as well.
I'm on a Google pixel 7 but it will work the same on almost all androids ;).

      • This is what it looks like:

        1. Put in kogan sim with the 50% off top up with your transferred existing main primary number.
        2. Put in 2degrees sim or download qr code esim (if esim is available on your phone) with the $10 top up credit which is your secondary number.
        3. In settings as select network and internet then click sim.
        4. Select kogan sim as main preferred sim for calls, text and mobile data.
        5. When a text for e.g. a doctors appointment come through text back with the 2degrees number (you will need to change your contact number at the doctors for example to the secondary number so you can text them back).
        6. Use the kogan sim for all your calls texts and data as it's your primary number.
        7. Enjoy ;)

I only use the 2degrees sim to txt back for appointments or purple visa points. Other than that I don't need to use it at all.

        • Thanks!

Is there data carry over with Kogan? Site doesn't mention it, and how easy was it to transfer the existing number across? Cheers

          • +1

@L3tstaxth1s: No there's no carry over, porting a number should be fairly quick

  • Is the $10 off code just for the first month, or off every month?

    • Every month

  • Can you message short codes/premium services with these guys, or is it like Kogan?

    • +1

I asked this question via message and they have said yes you can.
It is an ‘on account’ system, not prepaid like Kogan meaning short codes can be sent.

      • Legend, thanks bigcheese.

  • Compare plans here:
    Mobile Compare

  • even if I don't have a roaming pack or a plan active, can I still receive texts and calls overseas?

    • Best to ask Full Flavour on their website.

      • or send them a Facebook message.
They responded to me quickly, even when I messaged later in the evening.

  • Just a wee bonus for you guys between now and April 30, if you refer a friend (get them to mention your name in the order notes), you get a month free and they get a month free.

Make sure they also mention the promo code Geekzone for the $10/month discount.

  • So whats the feedback so far from those who have signed up?

I dont get why need DoB and Licence details if it is just a prepaid plan?

    • That’s because it’s on account, not prepay.

I haven’t signed up so can’t provide feedback but I do see they have now updated the Geekzone thread to say the offer expires on the 30th April so I’ll update the post.
