Fruit and vege's are barley ever on sale, due to it being a necessary staple.
They'd rather let it rot and throw out than sell it cheaperNo they want to fatten us up for some reason. And Ive noticed that a 500ml can of V has more salt than a 2.25 litre of coke. Wonder why that is..
these products are popular with impulse buying so they have them on special to lure more.
Produce is expensive for supermarkets to manage and can be fickle due to seasonality and growing conditions and so they expect (and get) good margin on this product. Dry groceries are made typically by larger manufacturers that are more tied to the supermarket for supply and fund a big chunk of these promotions. Supermarkets don't care what you or your family eat, that is your job as an adult.
99c burger rings or cheezels, those days are a distant memory now lol
One thing that interests me is that most of the products on promotion (either 1 day sale, bonus tickets or similar) are unhealthy food - drinks, chips, biscuits, chocolates, lollies…. supermarkets, do you want us to be healthy or not! :):):)
