Sorry, when did Mitre 10 start price beating online? I swear I looked last year and it wasn't th3 case… but will definitely come in handy for when they won't do specific stuff in-store.

Nice find. I looked not too long ago and it wasn't there. Always find it less of a hassle to price promise online rather than dealing face to face. As we know often face to face the staff member is not always proficient with their own company policies.

There’s a price match page here but it’s out of date and has a lot of ‘page not found’ errors.

I tried using that, but received no response at all. The form took a few tries to be able to finally be submitted. My conclusion is it's not quite working.
I'm sure they started earlier this year and i've already used it twice, you can choose to have the item placed in the pick up locker, super convenient.
I have just did one, they responded within 2 hours. Gave a promocode for the particular product and have option for click and collect.

Yea, a form to fill in and a bit more info required vs MightyApe form. Need mitre10 SKU, pricing, competitor's pricing, etc. Then confirmation email and wait for the reply of approval/rejection. If approved, you get a unique promocode you enter at checkout.

Haven't really looked through the details, but does this mean we can price match against e.g. Kogan/Dicksmith or even Aliexpress? Or is it purely price match against NZ retailers online?
Does anyone know if Mitre10's price beat policy requires the competitor to have a physical store in the same area? I tried to price beat some items yesterday against North Island stores, but they denied it and only offered a price match instead. Cheers
The policy states:
If you find a lower price on an identical stocked product locally we will beat it by 15%.
What you would class as local is not specifically defined.
The only part that would catch you out with a match between North & South Island is that the item needs to be available for same day delivery or collection. That might be a struggle
Does Mitre 10 competitors’ product need to be available today?
Yes. Our Price Guarantee applies to products that our competitors (including online businesses) have available for same day delivery to you or collection by you. If you are price matching between Mitre 10 stores, both stores must be located in the same area so that same day collection or delivery would be possible. GST and any delivery charges will be taken into account so we are comparing the total price of our competitors’ product.
Thanks bigcheese! So they pretty much can denied the price match if it's from North Island and doesn't offer delivery to South in this case. (I tried to price beat 1 item from North Island garden supplier, and 2 items from New World North Island)
It states that it needs to be available for same day delivery - that's not going to be possible between North & South Island so they can easily refer to that clause to deny it.
oh yeah! they totally didn't last year, usually i just called my local store and talk to them and the asked them o put the item aside till i came in that week
