Cheers OP. I'm definitely in the market for a new TV but didnt expect to be considering spending this much. If anyone else has experience with this TV I'd be keen to hear your thoughts.

What are you upgrading from? I upgraded from a samsung LED to a LG b1 in 2019 thinking I'd be upgrading in 5 years. The colors still pop like crazy, this is now a 10 year TV. Sub 3k for this TV is an exceptional upgrade and will be a long time before needing to upgrade again.

      • I've currently got an ancient 720p 42in TV. It just won't die! I know anything will be an upgrade but I'm keen to make a big leap forward and get something that's excellent value for money.

Im glad i decided on 65 inch vs 55 inch.
      But i got C2.

      • Re 65 vs 55. I think it depends on the room. 55 should be all good for my needs but I agree 65 better for some uses. My Dad's 55 gets lost on his wall.

        • 100%
If you have room for 65, do it. I recommend not settling on the 55 if you can afford 65.

      I'm still rocking a C1 65". I second @Foodie's 65 vs 55 inch decision

Harvey Norman Bonus Gift Cards are issued on receipt of goods and expire 2 Months from date of issue

2 months has got to be the stingiest expiration period I've ever seen on a gift card

      • It's a more recent development I noticed last year. The promotional Harvey Norman gift cards I received in 2020 expired two years from purchase. I didn't find anything compelling to buy during that period so I purchased Microsoft Xbox gift cards which never expire. Not sure whether they specifically exclude purchasing standard Harvey Norman gift cards to extend the life by two years?

  • Thats a good price… Very good price.

Next best deal is the C3 @ Noel Leeming… Then Price Matvh at JB HIFI:

Plus they have free delivery on all TV's

That's a savage deal. Free delivery too. Pity it's only HDMI 2.0 but if you don't game, for the money it's crazy good. I still regret missing out on last year's deal from this shop.

I think they had a bunch of C2 OLEDs (was it 48inch?) for 900 or something crazy.

That was a sweet Father's Day deal!

Ahh yes, it's always the deal that got away that stings the most :)

I got that tv and still haven't really set it up yet. I don't know how to get Freeview to play at 4k, I just plugged the aerial in and it still looks about the same as the plasma it replaced. I was considering whether I needed to get a firestick or something because I can't even sideload adfree youtube with lg's operating system. The entire thing doesn't feel very intuitive or easy to use when you don't have any streaming platform subscriptions.

I haven't watched TV for years and haven't wanted to game or watch any movies or shows lately.
For now, it just sits there looking pretty.

        • Freeview isn't a 4k feed. I'd also recommend to forgo the TV OS and grab that firestick or a 4k chromecast. It'll be much better than the built in TV apps.

          • @Jizah: Thanks, didn't know freeview wasn't 4k. What would be the benefit of the TV stick? I don't have any subscriptions, so I can't use the built-in apps anyway. I also have my computer next to the TV (planned on gaming on the TV). Can I just use the PC and a HDMI cable instead of a TV stick? I guess everyone has moved on to streaming services now.

        • Dang, yeah unless you are ingesting content that takes advantage of it, i guess it is just an ornament! Albeit a great priced one :) Tricky replacing plasma as the image on those things was always so good anyhow (esp compared to the traditional LED/LCD TV's that were its contemporaries).

Maybe snag one of the Apple TV+ free 2 months deals that float around here and give that a go? It will look amazing on the C2.

          • @Donnycrane: What content is everyone ingesting nowadays? The last show I remember really following was Game of Thrones. Can't believe it's already been so long.

But after that ended, I can only remember watching 2 seasons of Barry and Only Murders in the Building (loved both, need to watch the 3rd seasons), a few seasons of Breaking Bad and a couple of The Walking Dead (I'm pretty sure it was during lockdowns). And Killing Eve (can't remember how long ago that was, but remember loving it). Oh, and lastly Stranger Things. I probably haven't watched a show in around a year at this point.

I also prefer to watch shows and movies in the comfort of my bed under the sheets, not in the living room.

    • only problem being anything goes wrong with the tv after 12 months you’re on your own

      no support from the manufacturer

    • Have you bought from this shop before?

      • +1

Not so far. I've been tempted.

        • I looked into this company. Looks like they are owned by Spark. That gave me the confidence to purchase. It's a great TV!
