70% Alcohol pads, microfibre cloths, and general car care things. Can pick up a 1ltr bottle of Thioglycolic acid (under the name of "car wheel iron cleaner" which is the main ingredient used in expensive wheel and mag cleaners we have in NZ, at a fraction of the price. I'd highly recommend it if your car rims build up brake dust quick

      • cant share the link on here, but i've messaged you

        • Can you PM me too? Cheers!

        • I'm interested in this too. Can you PM the link?

        • Open that link in browser and remove everything after .html and paste it here. That should work.

        • Is this 300mL spray bottle what you are referring to?

          • +2

@Tmurder91: "AL07736" - Search that up on temu, it's the one I use :) the 500ml and 1ltr variant doesnt seem to be there anymore, but i'm about 3 months into my 1ltr bottle and its only 3/4ths full

@P0KEMON: Anyone who bought the 100ml for $8, its now $6. Do a price adjustment for $2 back

              • @kiwiicheapies: Another price reduction for this, It's now $4.
How does price adjustment work though?
                Had bought it for $7.88,
1st price adjustment got me $1.84 back.
2nd price adjustment only got me $0.89 back.

Final current price I paid is $5.15 after 2 adjustment. But the price showing currently is $4

Edit: nvm. Forgot to deduct tax.

                • @ace310: Their price promise is based on the actual amount you paid rather than the original price. Say if you placed an order with a 20% off code, you'd get less refund or even nothing from the price promise.

Just a heads up to anyone who bought the mag cleaners, the brake dust isn't going to magically go away once you spray it on. Once you see the solution react to the brake dust (it'll turn purple/red) let it sit for 1-2 minutes and then scrub everything away whilst having running water on the wheels :)

As someone who has never used Temu but gets a lot of stuff from AliExpress, can I ask what the advantages are of getting stuff from Temu?

    • Free shipping and delivery guarantees($5 credit if not delivered by the date specified, 15-30 day windows for delivery then a full refund or resending goods) and free return on first faulty item for each order at their cost. Airmailed and to your door within 1-2 weeks generally. ~75% of orders arrive <13 days.

      • Yes the warranty from temu is the best. For Ali, I have to wait like 4 weeks just for a result, because seller keeps making up excuses.

    • Faster and free shipping.

      But less range.

    • +2

I'm finding both sites equally unbelievable getting products. Latest purchase was for a diakin heatpump remote from Ali for 1.83c shipped. Works 100%, buttons little stiff only issue. The equivalent from The Heat Pump people would have set me back $147.

    • I was pleasantly surprised by how AliExpress is now copying what Temu is doing, buy 3 items and get free shipping, I can spend like $10 or less and get free shipping. Many items are also much cheaper when they appear in that special page. Was considering start using Temu…haha

    • i used both but still use ali for quality items. temu for cheap stuff i dont mind breaking.

    • You get refund within 30 days of your order due to their price adjustment. If something you bought has gone on sale and is cheaper than the price you paid for, you get to apply for refund on the difference. It's very easy and comes through instantly. I posted a userscript in the forum to make this process easier, look it up.

It's also really easy to get a refund. Well, it used to be you could just talk to the chatbot and get refund immediately, no questions asked. You could still do that now by they make you talk to a real human. And it used to be that you can ask the chatbot for coupons.

At the moment, the free shipping requires $35 minimum spend, but you can workaround it by adding other items into your cart and checkout. Then, you cancel the order on just the items you don't need. They will still ship out the rest of the items. So you could literally buy something for like $2~$5 and get free shipping.

There are other "tricks" with Temu as well, but whether it's ethical or not is a separate discussion.

      • Would you mind sharing the other "tricks"? You could pm me just in case others might think it's "unethical" in their judgement :p

      • I'm all in for this knowledge too please.

Mens Belts - the "Casual Woven Belt" of the type that the buckle pin pokes through the nylon woven belt. Right now they're about $6. In the shops the price varies but hovers around high $30's - 40.

    Excellent Quality Womens/Mens sports sox

Fitbit watch straps - far cheaper than even Amazon

Sunhats - great quality and much cheaper than in the shops

    Phone cases.

I certainly like the prices and am fairly sure that many local suppliers/retailers buy from the same sources probably lol.
While I like to support local I have to ensure my Dollar goes as far as it can and I'm not into spending 8 times the Temu price whilst buying locally. Not normally anyway.

*****I DON'T reccomend buying batteries. I got a pack of 10,( I think it was), CR2032's (for my car key fobs etc), and it cost only about $1.20 but they don't last very long. Locally they're STUPID prices such as $4.50 EACH and that really annoys me but I need batteries that last so I have to bite the bullet on that occasionally.

    • +2

If you're after the brand name batteries you can get a Panasonic CR2032 twin pack for $3.90 using the CSCBG Premium account membership at Noels.
      Free delivery today as well.
      https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/panasonic-3v-lithium-battery….
Certainly not as cheap as Temu but $1.95 each is a lot better than $4.50.

    • Mitre10 do packs of 4 lithium 2032 batteries for $6

      • +1

Don't know where you saw that but that's wwwaayyy different to what I last saw in there:

        https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/energizer-lithium-coin-batter…

          • @kinetic9: CR2032s can be had for $2 for a 6-pack in $2 stores like Look Sharp.

            • @Avantime: Can you recommend a good quality brand? The ones I purchased from $2 shops are really bad quality. This one pack I chose in the shop, the cells were leaking. Picked up another pack and it had mould growing around some cells.

              • @The Hound: lol its just best to spend a bit and get a known brand, its not worth the hassle.

                • @coffeee: Yeah I know, but which brand you recommend, lol? Maxells are okay right? I see them in 2 dollar stores, but packaging looks different, so could be fakes? Like other cheapies have mentioned, I'll go for the Panasonic ones from Pbtech. Prices look more affordable than other big retailers.

            • @Avantime: I personally don't really need these often, just for the car key fobs. Haven't had good experiences either with the super cheap ones from the $2 store

    • Get LIR2032 batteries instead. They are rechargeable.

      • My (layman's) understanding is that there's a slight voltage difference between CR2032 and LIR2032 batteries that could cause an issue in some applications, and that you'll get significantly shorter life out of them.

      • Does it need a special charger? Doesn't really seem worth it for me, only really replace the car key ones once or twice a year.

        • Chargers are about $5 from Temu/Ali and the batteries themselves are about twice the cost of regular CR variants. It pays for itself within 3 battery replacements.

    • I've had some good button battery from aliexpress. look for a Chinese brand that is established a a good Chinese battery brand. if you buy English brand then it is a fake.

    • Can you share the link of the women sport socks that you are referring to? I started losing trust of all the 1000 5 stars reviews of all the items. Thanks

  • Was considering some OralB toothbrush replacement heads - anyone else using them? any good? not made of dodgy chemicals?

    • +3

The ones on Aliexpress are good, I assume ones on Temu are much the same.

  • +1

fishing rod tip lights, fish bite alarms, ball floats and glow in the dark beads - all arrived and been good quality

    • Trouble is, you always buy a replacement remote when the original dies suddenly. And you need one asap and cannot wait a week or 2.

      • +3

For $2.87, buy one now just in case

        • Funny thing is, it was my Samsung remote that died after 3 years. Meanwhile my 25 yr old Sony one is still working.

    • damn that look shockingly close to the generic remotes i've seen at retailers under one for all brand

  • +6

Id just like to say, thanks to this thread I have ordered 20x "oral b" toothbrush heads, 4x 79% merino socks, 8x scrunchies, 1x tweezers & some light up LED scrunchies for the nieces, grand total of $25 with free shipping. Thats wild!!! Less than a 3 pack of oral b heads combined. Probably sepnt way more time than I shouldve scrolling through the millions of things on there but WOW.

    • Those third party oral b brushes can be a hit or miss

      • The reviews were good but it is definitely a gamble! Fingers crossed 🤞

Pretty niche but sewing supplies are amazing on Temu. Spotlight is such a rip off. I've bought the quilting clips (no more pins), bias binding folding tools, sew in labels for clothes, and a few packs of iron on decals (which I always sew on anyway). The decals are maybe $8 ea at Spotlight but you can get a pack of ten for about that price.

    • Yes, I have brought alot of sewing items. bias folding too, elastics, stretch lace etc. Also a small nylon shoulder bag which I have used and used.

  • Ordered brake cleaner, got sent car leather and plastic conditioner…
At least it was refunded within a day. Should I try ordering it again?

    • Haha order it again if you can be bothered waiting I guess.

I've placed a few temu orders, and they've never actually gotten an order wrong, i.e. forgot an item or completely wrong item like in your base.

    • +1

Try again for another mystery item lol.

    • +1

I also got sent some leather and plastic conditioner. Oh well, it should come in handy.

not a regular or staple purchase but im taking a plunge in the world of solar lights. will update if theyre any good

    • which ones? i was looking at the fence type ones.

      • +1

ones where you stick into the ground and one that you can attach on the fence

the reviews seem promising and lots of reviews from nz

        • keen to hear what you think!

a late update but thought to share.

          bought
"10 Packs Outdoor Solar Landscape Lawn Light, Waterproof Outdoor Lights, Solar Garden Lights, Solar Yard Lights, For Pathway, Patio, Yard, Lawn, Walkway, Deck And Driveway"
          - honestly would not recommend, the light is very weak but might be good if you want a bit of light in your garden at night

"6/4/2packs Solar Fence Lights Solar Deck Lights Solar Wall Lights, Outdoor Fence Perfect Decorative Lighting Lamp, For Fence Deck Patio Yard Garage Step Stair Lighting"
          - this dome shaped one is cooler and makes cool pattern with the plastic casing. would recommend but you do need to nail it in or use double sided tape to stick it to a surface. stronger light that the product above but dont expect it to be amazing

purchased a range of stuff in my last shipment.
    apple lightning cable (mfi ones)
    usb c / a wall charger
    leather wallet (unbranded)
    shaver (kemei)
    microfibre dish cloths
    strapping tape
chromecast remote (dog ate my last one)

    • Dog ate our remote too - your post from a couple of weeks ago somehow stuck in my head and reminded me I could get another on Temu!

      • i can confirm the remote works! slightly noisier than the original but functionality is perfect.

        • Noisier? I can't say that the original remote made any noise at all (apart from perhaps tummy rumbles in the dog!)

thought to contribute to this thread with things ive purchased

windshield wiper tablets (first purchase but it seems pretty useful so far, 20 pack for $3~)

birthday cards or any greeting cards (self explanatory but you could get a good range of cards depending on who youre buying for)

screen protector (4 for $4, such a steal and very useful)

travel perfume atomiser (good to have some perfume on the go)

travel foldable comb (i keep these in all of my bags, one end is fine toothed and the other is regular)

thinking of getting my cotton buds from TEMU as the prices are unreal

i religiously stalk this thread to get some TEMU inspo. thanks OP

  • Looking for a smart garden watering system. Any recommendation on Temu? Can see plenty options there but no idea which one is good. A few plants in pots died when we were out of the country early this year.

    • Can't help with the smart side, but I have just ordered some brass hose fittings - hopefully they are what they appear to be, as they are much cheaper than M10 or Bunnings.

    • +1

Do you have Homeassistant and zigbee? There are some good aqara/tuya sensors you can use. Not sure if Temu has them.

Look at some recommendations on Reddit

  • Looking for a cheaper house cleaner lol

    • Yeah I want to retire from this task too - have you found one yet?

      • Move to a country where cleaners are cheap hire?

    • Try moving into a garden shed (or other similar option).

The dirt etc may still accumulate in the house, but you won't be able to see it, and philosophically at least, you could argue to yourself that it might not exist.

Since the garden shed is likely a bit dirty to start with, you won't notice the additional accumulation therein quite as much.

Damn you all, I've now brought more stuff from Temu.

Couple of things I've brought a few times (along with charger cables) has been rubbish bins for the car (cheaper sometimes to rebuy than clean out existing one when kids make it disgusting), brought some cleaning goop that has been brilliant for clearing car vents and round gear stick etc. Will get that again when current one gets to dirty.

My latest purchase that has been a hit with my kids is 6 Decks, 262pcs Cards - Go Fish, Old Maid, Crazy Eights, Memory Match, Slap Jack, Animal Playing Cards..

      {Shakes head}

There is a good chance you are going to regret purchasing those cards.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, and for the rest of your life (or perhaps not quite that long).

      • Haha, well there have been a few fights already but it has been fun

      • +1

Well kids needs to learn. This would seems to be a cheaper way to get at it.
