Best 300 Fibre Broadband offers available?

Have just come off contract with Skinny - requested to get an offer to renew for another 12 months and got advisesd they're not doing that anymore.

My concern with changing providers is last time, my home alarm didn't work with the change in provider, and I had to get someone out to come fix it. (Couldn't work out the problem myself).

Any good deals at the moment?

I have my power and bottled gas with Frank at the moment too so could potentially switch them with Frank gas going up in price soon.

Thanks in advance!

  • Even with Frank's price increase for bottled LPG, they still seem to be the cheapest as you don't have to pay the bottle rental fee if you have power with them.

Anyway, Slingshot have 300/100 for the first 12 months for $65/m through Broadband Compare, 2degrees have 300/100 for $70 a month.

    • I got the Slingshot deal for $59.99 through this other Cheapies deal posted a while ago.

In case anyone's interested, even though the Slingshot deal has long expired, but I contacted the same guy I contacted last time and he was able to get me the exact same deal at the same price for my other property. Unlimited Fibre 300 Broadband at $59.95/month on contract for 12 months.

Ask for Rohit at FastConnect.co.nz, he's pretty good.

Contact Energy's CONTACT400 promo with any of their plans if you have power with them. $400 credit on their 300/100 plan averages it out to 46.67 P/M over 12 months (although there's no contract, you can leave after 30 days if you wish). You can get a cheaper Broadband cost p/m with their bundle plan but the rates with the Good Nights free power between 9-12 PM is a no brainer saving us roughly $70 a month in comparison in our power bills (averaging 200 kWh of free power a month for the last couple of months.)

    • Do you know when this offer ends? I was Thinking of changing to the Good Charge plan with broardband but I still have 2 months left to go on the broardband plan I’m with. I tried searching it on here but all I get is everyone on the Good Night plan. I think, on average, we use more than twice as much power in that 9pm-7am than we would from 9pm - 12am according to my flick app. Cooking is all done by then and I usually try hold off washing clothes and dishwasher until 9. Daughter in bed with heater on around 7:30pm and stays on until around 6am. No other power gets used during the night really.

$59.95 slingshot 300/100 on a 12 months contract. Call their helpdesk to get the price.

    • Just called, was offered $77/m with $60 credit.

      • They're advertising $65/m on Broadband Compare right now.
        https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/p/slingshot-exclusive-off…
Ripping you off at $77 (or $72 if you allow for the $60 credit)

        • Thanks, I just signed up fastconnect. Will see if they still offer $59.95 as the previous post mentioned. I saw that deal was somehow marked as expired.

        • Updates: FastConnect offered $60/m, but need to put it under my wife's name as the deal is for new customers only.

          • @xsolider: That will be a new connection then. Let me know your experience

    • Now broadband $47.50 for 6 months then $90

      • $95 after 6 months isn’t it?

        • Just checked Yes it is . Isnt it the best discount atm ? Are you still with them ?

          • @Joe: Yes still with them - still got a few months to go on 12 month contract.
I only had to contact them once and they were very fast to answer (couple of minutes only on hold). NZ based call centre too.

            • @bigcheese: I will sign with them up again if they have the same deal

  • $44.99 for 6 months with Zeronet (then $89.99) for Fibre 300.

    • Zeronet is fine when it works, but they are diabolical when it doesn't. Worst ISP I have ever been with. They will not answer queries, and they actively delete all their Facebook comments when they are anything but glowing praise.

Check their FB page and you will see posts with 93 comments, you will click in and they are mostly gone. They are all people asking for help or raising issues.

Zerohelpnet is the reason I've stuck with Skinny past the 12 month date, working from home I can't be dealing with a shite ISP. Have had 100% uptime no problems with Skinny so just want to keep it that way for the extra.

Yeah this is my worry. Skinny has been reliable, I guess for $80 a month it's the weigh up VS Slingshot at $59.95.

      • Hmmm we’ve had no issues at all, except one day the internet was out due to Spark, and they provided a $20 credit to our account. Otherwise been well worth the $29.99 per month for the basic plan. Even cheaper than Skinny Jump.

24 hours without internet is insane, and a deal breaker for many people. The compensation is still also a work in progress for some customers too, but those comments have been deleted off Facebook.

This is the first company in my life where I cannot just sit idly by and let people blindly join, they really are so horrible haha.

          • @Jizah: Fair enough. The price is probably too good to be true.

      Stay away.
