  • How do these match up against ANOVA for the general home cook?

I've had an Anova Pro since May 2020.
I had problems with WIFI connectivity with Unifi for a while.
Clamp broke in May 2023 and they replaced without question.
3D printed a stand for it that works well.

No complaints. Support is amazing. I also have their Vacuum Chamber (which is cool but a little silly).

Anova Pro is 1200 watts. Up to 92C. $343 NZD. So that's how they stack up really.
This holds the temperature perfectly with and without a silicon cover (stops evap).

      • Yeah, I can back this up. Clamp broke and it was replaced ASAP without question. Replacement is a much stronger product. Only difference for me is I haven't experienced WiFi issues. I think with either way you are getting a good product.

      • Unrelated to the sous vide but I've also had issues with Unifi and some smart home products. You may have done it already or ymmv but changing the minimal data rate control in the Wi-Fi settings from Auto to Manual fixed all my issues.

I don't have any experience with the Anova, but I can vouch for the ISV-200W, which has been working flawlessly. I haven't regretted buying it.

      • I’ve been using the ISV-100W and it works perfectly fine compared to more expensive units. I don’t use its wifi features though. If I didn’t already have it I would pick this one up.

        • The app works great. I can control it while at work and get my S.O to add the food to cook.

    • I previously used Anova units until my second one died. They function pretty much identically to the Inkbird. The only advantage the more modern Anova holds against these is water ingress. I once massively overfilled a container and ended up tripping the circuit breaker when I added leg of lamb to the pot, overshot the max fill line by quite a bit. Dried it out in the sun and it was fine.
