Rechargeable Air Duster with Thin Long Nozzle?

I have an electric rechargeable air duster that I use regularly for cleaning my keyboard, desk, etc and it works great. But I found it hard to get into certain spots that are narrow and thin. For situations like that, I'd need to resort to using a traditional compressed air duster, like this one:

I'd rather not having to keep buying the throw-away compressed air dusters. I did some research and couldn't find any electric ones that come with a long thin nozzle like that. Only option I can think of is to 3D print the nozzle myself, but I'd then need to invest in a 3D printer just for this. Would appreciate it if anyone has any recommendations.

Just a thought: rather than blow all that dust into the air, have you considered a vacuum with brush attachment? That's what I use when I clean my keyboard (far less often than I probably should… which reminds me, I'm overdue for a clean 😅).

But otherwise, you could check out your local makerspace (if you have one nearby), and some community libraries also have 3D printers available. Or ask on Geekzone. But either way you're also going to have to design said custom nozzle. Do you have 3D modelling experience?

    • Vacuum isn't what I'm after and besides, the attachments are all way too big to fit into tiny spaces. The thin nozzle attachment that comes with air duster or even things like a WD40 spray are small enough to do the job and that's what I'm after.

And no, I don't have 3D printing experience, hence why I'm not keen to go down that route. I did however find a few nozzles from Bunnings that I might be able to tweak and fit with my existing air duster.

  • You can 3d print at local library. It is pretty cheap. You can download the design from thingiverse or tinkercad. Updating a design in tinkercad is not difficult.

  • I'm pretty happy with ryobi inflator just plugin your drill battery and off you go. Attachments are only ok tbf but has enough power to clean out computer parts.

  • So I went to Bunnings today to look at some parts and ended up buying this:

I tested it and it works quite well. Has different nozzles and 2 of them are thin enough for my needs, but slightly short still. I ended up buying another nozzle kit for $13 and it works well with my air compressor. Only downside is that it's quite loud, but it does what I need so I'm quite happy with it for now.

  • Unlikely you scuba but I attach a air duster nozel to my tanks. There's always a bit of gas left after dives so it's basically free.
