What good would having multiple phones for?
    Apart from entering multiple competitions??

It's SIM not phone. I'm guessing it's because a lot of new account setups require a unique mobile number that they text to verify. Setting up a new account brings new member discounts and refer 'new you' to old you number benefits for example.

They were particularly useful in the days of free Mobil car washes and the almost monthly Waitomo fuel giveaways.
        Long time ago now.

These are sims as mentioned above

But also I have 3 phones:

      1 for my personal stuff
1 for all the apps and crap I don't want distracting me (where 75% of the apps reside, damn notifcations) (Doubled as a work phone previously)
1 for managing my parents accounts bills and every other shit they're incapable of, also double as my router since the landlord company is POS and wont install fiber.

I found between 3 uber accounts (doordash & others too sometimes etc) I tend to get deals on different ones and different times and also sometimes the same deal across all like the $1 meals uber had recently, it means you can order more often/save more often

      • A bit off-topic, but check out Hail from F-Droid. You can assign tags to apps and freeze apps based on tags, or based on other conditions. You can automate a lot of things with either Tasker/Macrodroid with root or Shizuku. I have about 400+ apps and they're all under control thanks to MacroDroid + Hail. No unwanted notifications, no unwanted wakelocks from apps running in background without my permission, etc. This means I don't need a dedicated phone just for these apps. I only ever use my spare phones for hacking or testing stuff.

I have a dual-SIM phone, and my 2nd SIM is my data SIM. I purchase a new Kogan SIM with the $5 15GB starter pack every month, so I pay $5 a month for all my data - almost at my 4th year doing this. My main SIM is on prepay with Warehouse Mobile and I pay only what I need for the occasional phone call or text. My family is also on Warehouse Mobile and so I get to call them for free on the same network.

      • Also works well in Wireless Broadband modem for low data requirements.

  • In paknd save your will get .50c

I like the One NZ. I get more value. 2× Coffee for free and $5 credit IOU and $6 for order meal.

    • whereabouts do you get the coffees?

    • Are these rewards that comes as part of having an One NZ SIM number?

Just a reminder for the cheapskates out there, you can always get this for free:

  • My local Harvey Norman didn't have any limits advertised in store. I picked three off the rack and bought them without issue.

    • 3 different companies or 3 of the same company?
I took it to mean 2 of the same company is the limit meaning you could pickup 2 from each being 8 total

  • This deal is still active until 30th July now
