  • Thanks! Any idea when this ends?

  • as always with these deals:

pricespy.co.nz is your best source of info.

They're usually average cost + admin or something like that, noels average cost isn't representative of the item cost particularly … accurately? When I was a salesman there cost would change very often.

But it really doens't hurt to try

Slim pickings. What has happened to their selection of goods? Really struggle to see why you would shop at NL over jbhifi or pbtech (or Harvey Norman, even) when they have nothing on offer

    • Was talking to some Noel's guys that I used to work with yesterday and even they're saying there isn't really any clearance stuff anymore

I'm chch based and if I'm at Riccarton now there's no reason to go to Noel's over JB because JB has everything Noel's does and more?

      • +1

JB has really upped their game and shown NL and others that you can expand yourself from CDs and DVDs to a shop with quite a bit of variety and the prices aren't too shabby either.

PB Tech also - they're the Kmarts of electronics. Look what Kmart did to The Warehouse.

    • Because where I live, there's no PB Tech or JB HiFi locally. I order from PB Tech most of the time, but it's impractical for much bigger items.

I am ex-Noels, please shop around, you will possibly find what you want cheaper elsewhere.

The "Cost + 5%" is really "Cost + GST + 5%" and their cost can vary greatly between them and other retailers.

Last 2 big purchases were done through Harvey Norman (both whiteware) and tech (phone and Laptop) were through JB Hi-Fi.

At least they ain't flogging their internal Purple Visa only any more and have gone back to using GEM along side that offering.

For years they only had Gem and finance now and flogged it until everyone had it…. Then phased it out supporting it….. Bye bye customer base.

Cost always felt made up when I was there tbh. The cost we saw got changed all the time to push particular products (I guess).

pb were cheaper on most things and we were unable to beat harveys prices maybe 40% of the time (worked deals etc) on whiteware or av.

I get minor ptsd from doing financenow applications.

Thanks for the code! Struggling to get it to work online for any smart watches (even ones not currently on sale). Is this an excluded category? Did you have the list of exclusions/T&C's by any chance?

    • +2

I'm also having issues with the code working and a couple of items I tried weren't on their list of exclusions.

    • Yeah same here, can't get it to work for some Fisher and Paykel whiteware, Panasonic Fridge, or Dyson V15 stick vacuum. It shows "NOT APPLIED" next to the coupon code in the cart, so potentially only targeted for certain accounts.

I don't have the Boost flyer but I do have the N3 version which I would imagine is the same.
Code for N3 is: FFJULY24_N3 and here is a copy of the flyer if anyone wants to use it instore.

      Terms are here

  • The usual logic applies here - bigger discounts on high margin items. Generally tech products are low margin. You'll have more luck with accessories, whiteware and home appliances.

Also good to know that the NZMCA code is up too!
