Concerned that this is considered a deal, even more concerned at the normal price of these pizzas.

They're huge- fwiw I'd pay 25 for sals over full price hells

For just a cheese pizza though?

        • Yep!

        • Sals are definitly adding a good premium to their pizzas, sure.
But a Sals Pizza is 18inch which gives you a surface area of 255
A standard Pizza Hut is 10.75" which gives you a surface area of 90

That means you get more than 2.5x as much pizza with Sals, so yes its a good markup, but its not as bad as it first seems given the size of their pizza

Its just a shame that Sals are not as good as they used to be - their premium used to be well worth it, now its dropping in quality and hardly worth it

@Tmurder91: You can taste the dough, it's not the same anymore. Also Costco currently annihilating Sals.

@The Hound: Agreed - had my first Costco pizza a few weeks ago and its far better value for sure!

@Tmurder91: Bit confused, are you comparing cost of surface area?
You can get 2 extra large cheese pizzas from Domino's for $22.
Dont know about the surface area mind you.

            • +2

@coffeee: A Dominos extra large pizza is 37cm (14.5 inches)
              A Sals pizza is 45cm (18 inches)

That means the size of a Dominos pizza = 1075 square centimetre
That means the size of a Sals pizza = 1590 square centimetre

So a Sals pizza is 50% large than dominoes but its twice the price

If you ordered Sals, you're paying 15% more but getting 26% less pizza

5 years ago I would have said that was bloody awesome value as Sals are far superior.
These days, I prefer Sals over Dominos, but only barely so the value argument is going away

The margins on pizza has always been solid, Sals just take the piss

    • All ingredients comes from usa, i think aus prices are similar so its uneconomical.

Makes a great laundering front for all the extra ingredients they bring in.
