Hi guys, just want to know if there is a free version of Microsoft Excel/Word to use on the android phone/tablet, or if there are any other alternatives that do the same job you can recommend?
Cheers.

Is Quick Office the one on Play Store with "Early Access"?
google spreadsheet for excel. Moon reader for word docs
Thanks for the suggestion, Moon reader look to be just a reader and cannot do any editing?
oh thats right, maybe google docs then
They are free
https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/microsoft-365/free-office-on…I use the Google for almost all my personal files
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets
https://docs.google.com/documentI use Office 365 for work
For larger files I find O365 opens faster (only a few seconds)
Yep, the free Microsoft Android apps are actually really quite good and very capable for a mobile office app. I use them all the time.
I tried to install the app version but it's only for viewing not editing/saving, am I missing something?
Ah, I've only ever used it in my phone which is free, it looks like tablets over a certain size might need a subscription, at least according to this article: https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-use-microsoft-word-for-fr…
Awesome, so the web version save file to onedrive and I can access the file through a M365 shortcut on my tablet?
Everything is "free" if you add certain keywords to the end of it in your search.
I look up some free version and have download a few of them claimed to be free but end up asking me to subscribe to monthly plan when I tried to edit/save.
For PDF, I use "PDF Reader - PDF Viewer" and for office stuff, I use "All Document Reader - One Read".
If you update those apps from Play Store, then it'll overwrite your modded version and install the official version. There are ways to block the updates from showing for modified apps, so you'll never accidentally update them by mistake.
There are definitely apps out there that work and are free. Modded Spotify without ads, modded Office apps with all features unlocked, etc.
Just say it's piracy, because it is.
@kfr23: Never said it wasn't.
Next you're going to be telling me about how unethical it is, blah blah blah.
@NovaAlpha: You're correct, it is.
@kfr23: And what are you going to do about it? This whole site is unethical in a way when it comes to getting in quick on pricing errors, or spoofing locations for Z sharetank, getting free shipping on Temu orders by tricking the chatbot, etc. Plenty of examples. And you're one of the users of this site.
Sounds like you've got too much time on your hands, policing others on the internet. Go do something more useful and meaningful mate.
Inb4 the incoming petty downvote lol.
@NovaAlpha: I'm not going to do anything about it, but it is good to support smaller developers.
@kfr23: That I can agree with.
For the record, I do support developers (whether big or small). If I like the product and find them useful, I'll buy it. But what I don't do is pay what I think is a rip-off amount, especially if it's subscription based. And sometimes, I'll pay for the app and I'll reverse engineer and remove the license check, because I want to get around certain issues (such as the app requiring Play Store to be enabled in order to validate license).
quickoffice works ok.
