  • Awesome TVs have the C1 and C2 very happy with them. Jealous.

  • Silly question, can you use the gift card when you buy it? Or can it only be used after you buy it?

    • After. Gift cards are issued for use on your next purchase

  • Wonder has anyone tried doing this and if it works?
Buy first one, get gift card. Go back tomorrow and buy 2nd one, use gift card (and get another gift card). Then return first TV together with the gift card you got from 2nd TV purchase.

    • You could try but i would imagine the gift card number/code would be recorded on the original receipt and you would need to return the same card to get a full refund.

      • Buy first one, get gift card. Go back tomorrow and buy 2nd TV, use gift card (and get another gift card). Use the 2nd gift card to buy and then return an item. Then return the first TV with the 3rd gift card which is expected to no-longer match b/c you bought a non-tv item, which you returned.

  • Another LG 65 inch LED TV is going for only 40% of the price

Is the extra on this OLED TV really worth the extra $2200 difference?

    • It really depends on how you plan to use the TV.

OLEDs deliver incredible colour and contrast, with true blacks, but they require a room with controlled lighting to perform their best. On the other hand, LED TVs are less sensitive to ambient light, though their colours might not be as vivid and blacks can appear more greyish.

Some newer LED TVs come with local dimming, which can offer a good balance between the two technologies.

It’s definitely a bit of a rabbit hole.

That said, I did spend extra on the LG C1 OLED a few years ago, and I'm still amazed by the picture quality.

  • I have a C1 and it's pretty good. Is it worth upgrading to C4? I had decided my next TV would be something like a Samsung S95 because it has much higher brightness and better anti-glare properties. My room is quite light with windows on 4 sides of the room, so always have some sort of reflection going on with the screen. It's better with HDR of course, but not all the content we watch supports that.

    • I need the s95d for my room too. The problem is my children keep touching the tv with their hands and the new antireflective coatings skins like they are quite easy to damage with cleaning, when it you use microfiber with distilled water. So I'm just trying to delay things a little longer with my crap tv.
