[Open Box] MSI Claw A1M Core Ultra 5 (512GB) $1,038.82 (5 Available) + Shipping ($0 C&C) @ PB Tech

20

Core Ultra 5 model which evidently performs faster then the 7. This had terrible reviews at launch but software updates have made it significantly better. While I'd generally go for a ROG Ally X this MSI is a really good price.

[What are Open Box products?)

Open Box products are 'as new' products that have had their original packaging opened. This usually happens when a customer orders the wrong product by mistake, opens the box and returns to us. Or if one of our internal staff members need to take an item out of it's packaging to inspect for one reason or another.

These products have never been used, or in some rare cases, may have been powered on just once. They come with the same warranty as the unopened equivalent product and include all normal accessories, cables and manuals.

  • Not that good of a deal..was $898 new from Mighty ape a few weeks ago.

    • Not that good of a deal being Intel. Z1 based devices are much heavier sellers.
Z2 Chip confirmed coming next year with a big focus on power savings

I have a Legion go with Z1 Extreme, much better option than this! Returned my ROG Ally due to the widespread SD card issue.

Same. The much larger screen was the main selling point for me
I don't run Windows either Bazzite OS is much better even though it's going thru proton for many games

  • I dressed as a panda in an attempt to win one of these.
It looks like its improved alot since launch but MSI has announced a new 8 inch model with Lunar lake is due for early 2025. Maybe hold off if you can

Alternatively If you just want to game around the house and MAYBE remotely and have an Nvidia GPU and a Smart TV (or Android box).

You can stream games over a network (including the internet) using the GeForce experience application.

It was intended for the Nvidia Shield only, but some saviors reverse engineered the protocol and made an open source application Moonlight.

    https://moonlight-stream.org/

You just turn on Shield streaming in GeForce Experience, then install Moonlight on any Android device and it'll find it on the LAN (and then you can later set up internet streaming).

As an example I've been playing games at 1080p using a PS5 controller on a Mibox from like 10 years ago, with both the Mibox and the source device running on WiFi.

However naturally it's better for one or both to be cabled in (especially if over the internet). If I was cabled, I would confidently say I could do 4k60p.
