Free BK Cheeseburger & Coke for First 25,000 People that Purchase Specially Marked Coca‑Cola Drinks & Enter Code @ Coca-Cola

130

I'm guessing this just started today because everyone needs to recreate a My Coke account.

The first 25,000 people to register get a FREE Burger King Cheese Burger & Coke.

You need to purchase any specially marked 300mL, 420mL, 600mL, 1L, 1.5L, 2L, 2.25L PET bottle, 440mL can, 8, 18, 24 or 30 x 355mL can pack or 6 x 250mL can pack of ‘Coca‑Cola’, ‘Diet Coca‑Cola’ and ‘Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar

A unique code is made up of numbers and letters found on the product you purchased and is located on the back of the label of all specially marked plastic bottles, under the can tab on 440mL cans, or inside the carton of multi-can packs.

  • Take me back to the pepsi range giving free dominos pizza, that also made delivery free too 😩

  • Seems a lot less secure now? They send an unencrypted email to you to login, sent to the email address that you use to login.

If so, unless I'm missing something (very possible!) anyone between their mailserver and yours will be able to get everything they need to access your account.

    • Are your sure the emails aren't encrypted? I'd be surprised if Coke doesn't have STARTTLS enabled on their servers and of course many major providers do as well e.g. Gmail, Outlook.com, so there's a fair chance the email was encrypted during transmission. Of course STARTTLS is opportunistic and also can be vulnerable to downgrade attacks etc but frankly compromising Coca-Cola accounts seems quite low on the list of things attackers might want to do.

I mean considering that Spotify and I'm fairly sure some other significant websites allow you to login via email only and many many others allow you to reset password via email only, Coca-Cola is surely very low low on the list of websites people are going to try to compromise by trying to mess with emails in transmission.

Much more concerning is if they send you your password when signing up since there's the question then of how long they're keeping it unencrypted. Plus unless you delete the email, while getting your email compromised is bad enough, now people don't even have to do anything else to access your account but use that password including on any sites you used the same password (assuming it's different from your email one or they compromised it without the password).

      • I'm sure you're right.

And I agree - Not all that concerned about a Coke account anyway :-)

  • Recycling just got emptied. :(

    • +1

You don't save the coke labels before you recycle them?

      • Only when there's a good reward, I haven't seen one recently.

  • It says good luck you're in the draw, so it's a competition not a deal? 🤷

Also signed up but got no emails :/

    • I’ll close it for now. Let us know if you get it.

I got a few emails when creating an account. Verify, confirmed, welcome.
