Samsung Care+ For Flip Phone. Is it worth it?

Hi Cheapies members,
I am looking at buying the Samsung Z Flip 6.

For a slightly more fragile phone is it worth the money to buy this Samsung Care+ which is now $199 for 2 years which covers Accidental Damage or Accidental Damage and Theft?

Unsure about the ease to claim if anything were to happen to the phone? Are they easy to deal with when when it comes to phone issues?

Appreciate your input and thoughts please.

Thanks.

  • You send the device back to Samsung CSP in Auckland and they carry out repairs and if its stolen they will probably replace it with the same or better.
If you are outside of Auckland it could be easier to go with contents insurance if you have it.

    • Thanks @mdsl32. That sounds great, thought they are hard to deal with. That was based on comments in Reddit, where users complaining that their services in other countries are terrible for Care+.

That's very handy as I'm in Auckland.

  • Depends if you think you will break it to be honest. The 'extended warranty' part of care plans is obviously a bit of a waste of money, but z flip screens are neither cheap nor easy to fix.

FWIW samsung covered the zflip3 I dropped and misaligned hte hinge on free of charge

    • Thanks. I have 2 wild kids so better to have it to avoid unexpected expensive repairs ke hinge and screen.
Touch wood hope all will go well.

  • Are there any samsung discount codes available?

    • FLASHSEP is one that is valid for only until the end of the 13th 2pm for 15% off and a up to $600 trade in boost.

And then there is the 10% samsung members code. Not sure if the stack

      • And you may also use LOYAL50 which takes $50 off your order. Unsure if this is stackable.
Try it and let me know if it works.

    • If you instant message their agents they will give you codes. I asked them nicely and they gave me 3 codes which all stacked.
