Mygenie Xsonic Wi-Fi H20 Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop $249 (Was $1,199.99) @ Briscoes

Pretty good price for a well rated robot. The price drop is Briscoes so I did some hunting but could only find it here for $1229 down from $2249, so seems great?

How they get away with $1199 for a basic vac with no LIDAR lasers, cameras or scrubbing mop gets me..

Free shipping too wihout the need for a code for all of September for orders over $150

Damn, who in the right mind would even pay $1200 let alone $2400. That's just ridiculous, how they can list something at such a price.

    • Because it's not the real price. It's so they can say something ridiculous like 90% off in their marketing

      • That would be in breach of the fair trading act. Obviously they operate within the margins here but it would be expected they would have had to sold some at full price

        • Likely they are the importer. They can put whatever RRP on it they like. It's the recommend price - not necessarily the price it sells at.

@LupinS: it falls under deceptive or misleading pricing if their intent it to list high but sell low. Its covered under the fta.

The rrp doesnt fall under that (rrp is more about trying to set a baseline price).

Briscoes basically gets around it by having clear start and end dates of their sales. So at times it has to be offered at the full price. Just those windows arw very small, maybe 10% of the time.

        • I'm not sure on the act but do they have to actually sell units at that price or just offer it for sale at that price. I know in the uk companies sell furniture where you can technically pay full price for items but in store they only display the sale items, as the not on sale items are purchasable but out the back they can then advertise the sale prices when they are put out on display.

  • I kind of like the idea of a “dumb” vacuum without cameras. Any other recommendations I should consider?

bro, this vacuum max worth $300. With $1100 price mark, the vacuum should have a station that auto collect dust and auto wash its own mopping pad .

  • Im seeing it at full price?
