Playing music to multiple Samsung TVs

Hello hive mind!

Caveat - I am not the most tech-savvy person when it comes to TV technology.

I have 2 Samsung TVs - one is a smart TV that is about 5 years old now, and one 2023 Frame TV. They are positioned in living areas in different rooms, but across the same floor/similar space.

I would love to be able to play music to both TVs at the same time, so that sound can be played across the rooms / space.

I've had a bit of a look into it and see that buying a Chromecast for each TV would enable this, as I could then add them both to Google Home as a speaker group - but this seems like a bit of admin when both TVs already have smart functions so I don't really see the need for Chromecasts otherwise, and I don't own a Chromecast so would have to purchase these.

Am I missing something simple here? Or is this not very doable, and something like surround sound/speakers that pair up is better?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • I would also post this on Geekzone in the Home Theatre forum if you haven't already, probably a lot of user crossover between the two sites, but likely more people there who would know about this sort of thing. I've always found them very helpful.

  • Samsung tv itself won't be able to do it as far as I am aware. You need something outside of the tv to get it work.

I would rather post this on reddit as well to get better response and ideas.

  • Chromecast is the solution, however a cheap Google second hand Google nest mini / Google home mini speaker to use for music in each room would probably be a better solution than powering up the tv with a Chromecast for music.
