Yeah, it wouldn't pass for health and safety standards, but for a quick check it could be useful to get a gauge of things.

Tried it - doesn't work. There is a built-in delay function, that replays the same noise later when you aren't wearing the ear protection.

Maybe there is another built-in function that automatically increases the noise level by a random, but uncomfortable amount upon each 'replay'. Wouldn't surprise me!

I tested this with my new electric mower, on the box it said 96dB. Using the app on my S24 Ultra, it was bang on.
