  • Chemist warehouse will only price match one pack

    • I've price matched 2 packs of size 1, 2 packs of size 2, 3 packs of size 3. I think it really depends on the cashier, worst case scenario you can split your bill =)

Everytime I’ve tried I’ve been refused… just double checked their policy now states the below

At Chemist Warehouse if you find a cheaper price on the exact same item at another New Zealand Registered Pharmacy or New Zealand Retailer with a physical store in NZ we will match it and give you 10% off the difference.

The price matching policy is limited to retail quantities only, being three of each product per transaction. Please note that some products may have a lower purchase limit (for example scheduled medicines); product purchase limits will override the price match quantity limits.

Exact same item means exact same product with the same packaging.

  • Nope you can do up to 3 packs at a time.

Nice. Seems like they changed their policy. It used to only be one.

  • Does cashback also work here?

  • Chemist Warehouse Flatbush price matched to only $14.33

    • what is the reasoning to give you $14.33? according to CW policy they will beat it by 10% which is $14.8-10% = $13.32.

The store manager said that's the lowest the system was allowing her to go. I have made a complaint through their website.

      • It's because they beat it 10% of the difference; meaning it's 14.8 - (14.8-14.80)*10% = $14.33

I did get caught with this before. Theirs is definitely inferior to Bunnings/Mitre10 where they beat the price by 15% (not the difference)

        • That makes sense. So, is OP's title wrong or are other people getting lucky with price matching to $13.32?

          • +1

@melp: let me go back and check my receipt. Because I bought a bunch of other stuffs too, so its not so obvious. Will report back later.

          • @melp: OP isn't wrong.. Some stores are better than others. I went to one and got 10% and then I went to another and it was 10% only off the difference and they tried to say it was the computer that automatically does it.. Was a total waste of my time! I now know where to go to price match lol..

          • @melp: Unfortunately I couldn't find my receipt. But my mental calculation at that time was definitely under $14 for a pack. There is a possibility it is as what @spam has describe, because yesterday's price at CW was $23.99 per pack. so if you plug in the numbers its 14.8 - (23.99 - 14.8)*10% = $13.88. Or I got lucky and got price beat by 10%.to $13.32.

Sorry I could not give a definitely answer without the receipt.

            • @Melonia: @Melonia all good. What @JJNZ said might be true.

If you guys are in Auckland, could you name the store where you were successful in getting the reduced price match?

  • I just priced match nappies from Pak N Save, they were cheaper than the sales on at Woolworth. And I checked the Price match policy before I went in and surprised they updated to be 3 per product per transaction, I swear it used to be 1 per product max 2 products in one transaction.

  • Honestly price matching at Chemist Warehouse is so frustrating. First they don’t know their policy and only want to match one item. After spending 5 minutes showing them the policy, they then try to claim they don’t match the “saver” deals from other stores, only the “retail price”. After escalating to two different levels of manager they end up price matching the 3x1 pack and 1x2 others. After all that I walk out 30 minutes later and it’s not worth it to save $.50-$1.00 per item.
