Need help - Cygnett Magmove 5k Power bank - Product Recall

Hi guys, I need your help

Earlier this year, there was a post on Cheapies about the Cygnett Magmove 5k Powerbank and I went ahead and bought it from Jb Hifi sometime around Feb or March. I just came to learn that there is a Australia/NZ product recall because there have been reports of the power bank exploding.

I'm having trouble finding the cheapies post, or even finding an email in my inbox when I went to click and collect from JB Hifi - Further to that, I can't seem to find the bank transaction anywhere.

I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and purchased this deal after seeing it on Cheapies, but if they managed to find their invoice, could they let me know how much they paid? I recall it was discounted down from $100~ to around $30-40

Thanks in advanced!

  • This is the only deal post I could find. Not sure if it is even the same product, and it was much later than the date range you indicated:

If that was the deal post, perhaps you are mistaken about the timing, and if you check your emails / bank / credit card around the middle of Aug 2024, you might find something?

    • Cheers for the reply

Yeah Its not that one (Although I saw the post and also bought that power bank xD)

I'm thinking maybe the post expired and then got deleted? But I'm 99% sure it was posted on cheapies and I'm sure in the post other people said they also ended up purchasing it so I'm hoping to find others that are in the same boat as me!

Have checked emails and bank transaction but having trouble finding anything, If I had the exact price I bought it for, It might help me find the transactions

      Cheers

      • I'm pretty sure expired deal posts are not deleted.

I believe the only reason it would have been deleted is if it breached any of the site rules, and I can't imagine why that would have been, especially since the one I linked above seems to have been okay.

If you paid electronically, then searching your bank account(s), credit card(s), and email(s) for, say, 'JB' and 'J B' seems to me to be your best bet, and include anything from, say, 1 Jan 2023 to 31 Oct 2024.

Do you have a JB HiFi account? If so, have you logged in there to search through past purchases? I can see mine going back years. They are on two separate tabs - one for online purchases, and the other for in-store.
