  • Does anyone know of good blood pressure monitor?

Any idea if this Beurer BM27 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is good for $55?

    • Omron is good, bought mine in China though

      • Any specific model. There are too many and I am not really after advanced features like smart or bluetooth.

        • +1

I got the Omron U725A, no bluetooth, no smart features. This one has speakers that read out your high and low pressure and BPM, that's the only reason I got it - good for people that need glasses/contacts. Looks like this model may be Chinese text/speech only

Not sure on that one but it's similar to the Omron that I have. Older version to this one: https://www.medshop.co.nz/Omron?product_id=587

seemed ok, just one push button to start/stop.

EDIT: this is the one that I have: https://www.chemistwarehouse.co.nz/buy/134798/omron-hem7120-…

    • for home use perfect. Clinical use? eh I would rather listen manually.

      • Yeah, it's for occasional home use.

$20 aliexpress ones are more than suitable. the tech is well mature.

          • @antisocky: Naah. For this case, I will stick to the branded ones.

              • @LupinS: i've tested an ali express one against and omron an the ali express one reads slightly higher

          • +1

@antisocky: As someone who takes blood pressure readings and sells a few blood pressure monitors occasionally
The amount of people i see wanting to compare to their trademe/temu purchase and them being way off would mean id never recommend it
Im talking in the range of 30mmhg out
But the biggest advice please do not choose a wrist monitor they have shocking quality and are priced as such but dont waste your money

            • @Rowjo: yeah that's concerning… 30 mmhg is a bit more than I've seen! :D

Dont think you can go wrong with Omron or Beurer both good quality medical equipment manufacturers of Japanese and German origins respectively.

Bluetooth ones are quite useful for tracking trends and associations though. Especially if you are tracking other metrics like sleep quality, food, exercise, eeg, weight etc. As it can be hooked up to log it automatically.

    • We got one of these Omron ones, as the heath centre used them. They sell them cheaper on TM.

  • Do you guys recommend any of those routers listed?

I have fiber so I assume I just connect it to the ONT and off I go?

    • +1

I can vouch for ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 as I am using it.Been rock solid for 2yrs+. It's a beast in all sense. Though it's only wifi 6 so not the latest but still very relevant today.

Edit: To your original question. I have this directly connected to ONT and it works fine with fibre.

      • Thanks @ace310, how big is your place and does it reach all parts well?

        • +1

I have router centrally located in 5bdrm 2lvl house. It covers everything inside and outside as well.

  • Perfect my old Xiaomi Mi 34 just had a pixel die, Time to replace it.

    • Can i have your old one please hahaha. Na looks like a good deal on that tomorrow, $200 off!

      • Haha nah it'll become my second screen since my old LG died
        Living on 1 screen sucks

        • Next year you’ll upgrade to 3 screens and never travel the world again. Life changing

          • @Danbakes: haha nah 2's enough 1 to do work, while the other to play movies/tvshows/anime

  • Any good deals for IPS or OLED ultrawide 32-24 inch monitors (curved preferably)?

  • Ninja Foodi Af300 Dual Zone Air Fryer 7.6L Air Fryer

Anyone own one of these? If so, is it good?

Looking to replace my 3 years old air fryer.

    • +2

I have a AF300. The advantage of these 2 basket models is you can cook 2 different things at the same time, but the disadvantage is that each basket doesn't hold much. So for our family of 4 it's not that useful and we may as well have bought a single large basket model. It might work well for a single person or couple.

Another annoyance is that the "Max crisp" function only works if you use one basket. If you turn on both sides at the same time then it won't let you select it (limited to "Air fry" and lower settings)

Any good deals on a 75" to 85" TV?

    • I’m very Sony orientated now as I can sideload any unusual apps I want, such as F1 TV

Considering the upgrade too this year.

Not sure if Black Friday is the best time for TVs or if better to wait for end of model run out each season.

  • Very tempted by that Philips 4K 50", ideally would love a 43" inch so I'll keep hunting down a deal…

    • +1

Look for 2nd's if you don't mind. Lots of people would be upgrading. You can get a bargain especially when people are moving overseas.

    • +2

They have the 43" version for $435 as part of the sale

    • Could ask NL if this TV is actually in-stock anywhere

      Sony 43" X80J 4K LED 2021 Television $337.97
