Was a pretty straight forward process, sent my EOI through, then they emailed back asking for screenshots of my air nz status.

    Below is what they said:

To allow the maximum time to earn your Status Credits, please submit your documentation by 14 January 2025.

Once your documentation is reviewed, and if approved, you can start working towards Gold status by earning 100 eligible Status Credits from 15 January to 15 April 2025.

You can use our useful calculator here to determine the number of Status Credits you’ll earn on each flight.

For approved members, Qantas Club Lounge access will activate automatically on 15 January 2025.

    • Great! Have just sent them through my screenshots

  • If only I had some screenshots to send them 😂

  • So next step is finding the cheapest way to earn 100 points - any tips?

    • I had a very brief look at dates in March/April.

Auckland to Melbourne each way gets ya 25 status credits in a basic economy so would have to return x2 or pay extra for flexi economy/premium return which would get ya well over 100.

Auckland to Seoul on basic economy gets ya well over 100 (flights were roughly $1500 return)

There a calculator on the qantas site which gives you status credit indication.

    • Business class to the GC is usually one of the highest credits/$ you can get at 125 creds one way for $900 if you are planning on making the move to Brissy anyway haha.

    • Flexi domestic Jetstar flights now earn 10 credits, so 5 Wellington-Auckland return trips would do it

  • I'm gold and would love to stick it to Air NZ but sadly 99% of my travel is domestic. Would be great if they expanded JQ/QF network in NZ and launched lounges… wishful thinking.

  • What's the difference between Plan 1 & 2? I can't find any reference on the Qantas link
