Donate $10 towards Cure Parkinson's NZ and receive a code to redeem a 250g bag for $10 usually $17

The Cup for a Cure Campaign (“Promotion”) commences at 10am on 18/11/2024, and donations for this campaign close at 5.00pm on 18/02/2025 (“Promotional Period”). Coffee vouchers and discount codes for Allpress products can be redeemed until 10am on 01/03/2025. Donations start at $5 NZD, and each donation receives a coffee voucher, redeemable once at participating cafés listed on www.cupforacure.org.nz. Cafés not listed cannot accept the voucher, and the Promoter is not responsible for redemption errors. Donations of $10 NZD or more in specific denominations may receive Allpress product discount codes. Discount codes are valid once and do not cover shipping. Any additional delivery costs are the donor’s responsibility. All donations are final and non-refundable. Donations go directly to the Neuro Research Charitable Trust (NZ Charity Registration CC49200) and are not payments for products. Products received are expressions of appreciation, with the full donation amount going to the charity. Personal details are collected solely to communicate about the charity’s impact and will not be sold or given to a third party. A request to opt-out, access, update, or correct any personal information held by Cure Parkinson’s NZ in connection with this Promotion, please email [email protected]. Allpress reserves the right to verify donations and disqualify any vouchers or discount codes that do not comply with these terms.

  • Great cause, thanks OP!

~$5 shipping or free pickup in store if ones local to you I guess

The $50 donation for 1kg of beans + 12 cans of coffee looks pretty good to me! Plus it goes to a great cause.

  • Incredible find. Thanks!

Make sure to claim a donation tax credit with IRD too 😊

If you would like a receipt for your donation, please email us, and a member of the Cure Parkinson’s NZ team will assist you.

    • Sorry, I might be wrong here but if you receive some sort of incentive for your donation doesn't it invalidate your claim for tax credit. I believe it's not legal.

Edit: I could be totally mixing this with something else.

      • +4

Youre not mixing it up - that's correct.
A donation needs to be done with no direct benefit to you in order to claim back the 33.33% tax credit from IRD.
Receiving coffee in exchange for your donation would invalidate the claim.

        • Will be interest to see what the receipt states. If there is no mention of the code for the coffee, IRD would have no way to determine this

          • +1

@Brit22: That’s right. It comes down to the receipt wording. If it doesn’t state anything about the coffee and says that it is just a donation then there is nothing to stop you lodging a claim even though it doesn’t technically qualify.

            • @bigcheese: I guess so…

It's similar to how there is nothing stopping you claiming expenses that don't exist, or hiding your personal income from IRD.
Except at end of the day it's all fraud.

              • +1

@fake: Claiming expenses that don't exist, or hiding your personal income from IRD is tax evasion not fraud. Fraud would be providing falsified documents.

I don’t see any issues with providing a legitimate donation receipt, which IRD will then review. If they approve it, then that’s on them?

I could be fully unaware of the rules around donations with direct benefit (as I was before commenting on this post) and submit the receipt under full assumption that I had that right. Again, if they approve that receipt, is it still my wrong doing?

    Good deal thanks OP.

If buying a bag and a coffee at the same time it's a little cheaper directly in store ($15 here vs $14 in store as a bag comes with a free cup of coffee) but glad to be able to donate at the same time.

    • +1

Actually donating $10 can get a bag of beans plus a free cup of coffee.

"Each donation also includes a voucher for a free cup of coffee, redeemable once at any participating Allpress Café."

Does anyone want my free coffee coupon?

    • yes please, hopefully i can claim 2 at once

      • Please pass on to me if it doesn't work

  • Anyone having trouble C&C from Christchurch? I cant seem to find the Christchurch shop on the C&C list.

      • I meant the Christchurch store is not an option as a click and collect option when paying, only Dunedin and Auckland. So ended up paying $5 for delivery

        • Yes! Annoying as I was hoping to pick up next week as they have a roaster/big store in town.

You'd think it would save them money to have the option to pick up from there, I'm getting the big pack with 12 cans and 1kg bag (for only $5 shipping which ain't bad).

  • Did anyone receive a discount code? I donated $50 and have only received the free coffee coupon, and not the code for the beans and RTDs

    • Did you still have issue to use your discount code?
I also have problem to use the code received in the email to place the order.

  • First donation ($10) has no issue - received the link for cup-for-cure-bundle-1

2nd donation ($50) received the link for cup-for-cure-bundle-1 (should be bundle 3) and the code doesn't work with bundle 3.

Currently emailing Cup for A Cure and Allpress for solution.

    • Hi wildeny, how did you get on? Any solutions with getting the bundle 3 with $50 donation? Cheers

      • +1

        Emailed them both.
In the end, Allpress will send a unique link to claim the bundle 3.

        • I see, thanks for the update!
