  • Looks like it's only for new customers.. Not existing customers.

    • Does it not work? There’s an option for people with existing SIMs and active plan to buy this?
Can’t test though as i’m not a customer

      • It says the plans below are for new customers only. It will be awesome if someone knows of a way for existing customers to get this plan! Please let me know if there's a way. Thank you.

        • What happens when you click ‘Get this plan’ and then ‘Top up online’?

          It says this for me

          Already have a SIM?
If you’re already with 2degrees, you can add the $26 Monthly Plan to your current SIM card via our online top-up page.

It shows as an option through the 2degrees mobile app, in the ‘buy plans and add-ons’ section, with all the other plans.

          • @Fungi: I'm currently on $40 per month plan and I can only see $50, $65 and $80 plan options.. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

            • @Swappy: Are you on a pay monthly plan?

              • @Martz5: Yes. Oh so I need to change to prepaid and then I can get this plan? Sorry.. I forgot about being on monthly plan and this is a prepaid plan deal.

    • I'm having an error with this. It says "The number you're trying to top up is not on a valid Prepay number. Please check the number you've entered and try again". Sounds like I must get another for this

  • This is a great upgrade from my $25 a month plan

  • Anyone know if I can move from a higher plan to this one but keep all my collected carryover data?

    • I get the $60 for 25gb rollover data prepay. Then stop that and start the $8 month untill the data gets low. Back for another $60.
To answer the question. Yes. When i select stop plan ( bottom of the screen on the app ) and start an $8 the data is still there you dont lose it

Note that if you tend to use a lot of data at one specific time e.g. on public transport or otherwise on a commute and can remember to turn it on, you're probably better off staying on the $13 plan for the free data hour, and piñata (when it's available).

Also the $34 14 day plan is a better way to "buy" carryover data than the $60 monthly plan IMO. Pure price per GB is 1.7GB vs 2.5GB although comparison is a little more complicated since you have to pay for the rest of the period, so depends how long you keep the 14 day and monthly plan before you change back.

But even if you're worried you might forget to go off it in time because it's only 14 days, you could always go on it then change back to $8/$13 right away. And at $13 you'll spend $47 for a month and 20GB+600MB or $2.282 per GB vs $60 for something less than a month and 25 GB or $2.4 per GB.

That's worst case and doesn't make much sense you instantly switch away from 14 day but keep the $60 for nearly a whole month. Instead assume you switch back 7 days early for both (to give your self ample time in case you forget etc, just set a lot of reminders). To keep things simple, maybe take a 30 day month. So you stay on $34 14 day plan for 7 days and $60 monthly plan for 23 days, then go back to $13 plan. By my calculations it will be $2.149/GB for the $34 plan for 30 day month (prorating the $13 plan for data and time) and 2.507/GB for the $60 plan (again prorating the $13 plan for data and time).

BTW, just considered my above calculation doesn't take into account the need to change from your $8/$13 plan to the $34 and $60 plan. Just like switch away from the $34/60, ideally you'd also want to do sometime just before renewal of your $8/$13 plan since an early switch means you're paying more. But also you wouldn't want to screw up especially if your data won't last a month. While the basics isn't any different between the two, since the $34 is a bit lower data you'll need to do it a bit more often. However this isn't enough to make the $60 better IMO especially since depending on how much data you're using, you could always just stay on the 14 day plan for one whole cycle and let it renew paying $68 for 40GB.

          • @Nil Einne: Buying carryover data with the $34 for 20gb is a better deal.
            And switch.
And yes just set a reminder on the calender for when to stop and start plans.
Hadn't looked at the 2 week plans, so great tip thanks
