What a weird way to compare prices lol.

          Just do

          $3.49/12 eggs= $0.29 per egg
          $9.99/30 eggs= $0.33 per egg

oh oops, read 6 eggs instead of 12 eggs.

pretty sure all Asian supermarkets have eggs around that price. They don't really fluctuate that much.

  • Same tray sells for 18bucks at royal oak pak n save. Ridiculous

    • They have specials occasionally. Like a few weeks ago they had the best prices for Henergy free range

  • Cheapest price per unit (egg) in Dunedin is 32c at Pak'n Save, meanwhile at Woolworths the cheapest eggs they sell are nearly twice the price at 62c each. Pak'n Save has 10 different packs of eggs that work out less than 62c per egg, even New World has cheaper than Woolworths at 58c, and they're not even on special.

I'm hating Woolworths more and more every day, the only redeeming feature they have is that they occasionally have dumplings on special and the one in central Dunedin has a really good clearance section in the deli if you get there just at the right time.

  • Who's the egg(s) dishing out negatives?

  • PAK'nSAVE Moorhouse
SPC Rich Tomato Baked Beans 425g
    $0.49
    $0.12/100g

  • My local The Warehouse has these for $10 each still.

    • Size 6?

      • Think they are also size 6, quite small.

          Worst, size 5

          • @The Hound: Rechecked and yes 5. Good size though for toasted sandwich machine.

  • I go to that supermarket every week and they always have eggs around that price available. Sometimes they have 30 pack of Size 7 eggs between $10-13

    • Yeah I thought that cheap price was only limited to the Allan Fong brand. So it was a surprise they applied it to Farmer Brown! Which implies the cost price of FB can't be as high as Countdown would have you think.

  • My nearest one doesn't usually have farmer brown just the usual unwrapped ones for $13.99, not seen asian supermarkets with farmer brown eggs.

I always shop around Auckland for the cheapest prices. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

    • eggscellent

  • Anyone raise chickens for eggs?

  • PaknSave Mangere had FB size 6 dozen for 3.99. Think I had seen a post on FB about Costco having the 60pk for a similar $/egg too

  • Eeek, I buy my 30x size 7 eggs egg trays from any Taiping supermarket all the time for $12.99 or less (lowest I got them was $10.99). Never do I buy from them from any foodstuffs supermarket or woolies. There no difference in quality either.

The prices at Woolworths are eggtortionate.

    Thank you and goodnight.
